El Patrón Mexican Kitchen II — Restaurant in Wilmington

Tried it twice. No bueno.

Since you asked: 1) The first time I was disappointed when my favorite Mexican beer that was on the menu wasn’t available – Bohemia. 2) Because the salsa had zero heat, I requested some hotter salsa and was surprised when I was charged extra. I consider salsa at a Mexican restaurant a condiment – gratis. 3) The carnitas were OK. 4) Blender beans – yuk – no respect for the frijoles. 5) The rice was bland and tasteless. 6) Second time – I ordered chili Colorado – I got rellenos. 7) The rellenos were battered in a thick pancake like coating. I am used to a lighter scrambled egg coating. I couldn’t eat the batter. 8) The red sauce was sweet. This is not what I’m used to. There was no heat or hint of garlic and cumin. And bland rice and blender beans again…..I realize you have to cater to your cliental. You asked and this...

My family and I tried this place for the first time today. Not only was the food very dry and bland but we also found strands of hair our tacos, my burrito and a side of beans. When we told the manager or owner whoever he is about it we were told to get out and shown the door. I have never seen such poor display of customer service by someone in restaurant management. We never asked for a thing for free, actually we were waiting on our bill when we spoke to the manager. Just pointed out those few things and he got aggressive and yelled for us to get out. Mind you in front of our 9 year old and an entire restaurant full of customers. Highly recommend trying another establishment that actually cares about their customers and can manage a business...

To start it is CRAMPED in here. When I say they put as many tables as possible in here without caring if you have space to actually sit, it's not an exaggeration. Service was non existent. Waited 30 minutes before even being brought chips/salsa and asked for a drink order. The food was worse than everything else combined. I ordered corn tortillas, got flour. The steak was disgusting. Asked for limes- didn't come out with food so I asked again. Waited 8 minutes for a couple of lime slices. Even the table behind me was complaining about the food and Service.
