Halal Express — Restaurant in Wilmington

(for the record I never post reviews) AMAZING! Honestly, I was just driving down the road. I headed to my next stop for work and I saw a random food truck sitting in a parking lot and stopped. I am so glad that I did. I consider myself pretty well traveled as far as trying different foods and getting away from just burgers and french fries, but I have never had food that is Halal. So I stopped out of pure curiosity and it was an absolute win. Abdul and his uncle were both amazing and friendly. I had no idea what I was doing and Abdul walked me through the whole menu and what everything was. I ended up giving it the big boy try and trying one of everything on the menu that day I got falafel I got their special fries. I got lamb and chicken Shawarma and it was absolutely incredible. There is not a single thing I would’ve changed about my experience and now that I know that they’re here I will definitely be a regular customer moving forward. I’ve saw this Food Truck a couple of times before while I was in Wilmington, & decided to stop here for Lunch, & I didn’t regret it. Great Middle-Eastern Food! It was my first time trying NYC-style Halal Food, considering the lack of diverse food options here, & we don’t have a good Middle Eastern Restaurant down here (Peno’s Mediterranean is also good, too!). Very Friendly Customer Service from Abdul & the other Gentleman. The Food was great, the portions were large, & the pricing was great. I’ve ordered the Rice Platter, & I feel like that the Food could use just a little bit more seasoning, but the Meat & Rice was cooked very well. Overall, the Food tastes great. I ordered a lamb wrap and fries. The fries were loaded with so much sauce and other ingredients that they were not edible. I could only pick around and eat the chicken that was around the fries. I am Iraqi and this is far from authentic Mediterranean food. Nothing tasted authentic. I got a wrap filled with 80% rice and bland lamb. I ordered two sides of white sauce that were just ranch. This place is really goofy and I would recommend going elsewhere unfortunately there really isn’t any places in ILM with good Mediterranean food! It’s sad. 22 for fries and a wrap...
