The food was the primary high point, but it was very not very good. Similar to another recent review, there was only one bartender that seemed to focus quite a bit on local regulars than on visitors. When you walk in you just need to find a seat for yourself. You then need to go to the bar to ask for menus. Once you know what you want you have to go back to the bar and wait for the bartender. No table service, so much more bar focused. Atmosphere seemed a bit off. Even though it was early evening/late afternoon, it appeared that early bird drunks were about. They were loud for no reason and just made it irritating to eat here. If you don't run a tab, you will be charged and prompted up front for a tip without any service being performed. If you typically are a good tipper that adjusts the tip based on service quality, you might be irritated after the fact that you tipped more up front but received bad service. When you tip you expect someone to be waiting the tables and earning that tip, which did not happen here. You are given foam food containers, so you are pretty much bussing your own table too. The food was a bit greasy and they don't even provide a napkin by default. So, I can not recommend based on all the above. It should just be called Dark Skies Bar.

Friendly staff, very local crowd. I would not advise anything but quiet observation, relaxation, and enjoyment. This isn’t your bar back home, you’re a guest here and it feels that way - plus I’d hate to ruin it. It’s absolutely wild. I’ve lived in a lot of places and been in Texas a while - few places this close to big cities better encapsulate a frontier / western mentality as this town and this tavern.

Great local Hill Country bar, great atmosphere and typical Hill Country, Wimberley scenery. Surrounded by clear flowing waters and Cypress trees. Small live music stage, stone Texas rustic interior and a great bar. Just right for a private birthday bash or celebration.

The acoustics aren't very good in this place other than that I love that they serve food from Triforks outside. We can eat great food while listening to good music and have a cold beer or a mixed drink. The bartender is not to friendly and doesn't serve you if he doesn't like you or if he doesn't know you very well. I don't like that at all. I would probably go more often if it wasn't for him! I went again on a Wednesday night and he was there with a new blonde bartender. She was one of the worst bartenders I've ever seen. I waited until there was no one in line and then I was just ignored by both the bartenders. I always leave a good tip so it must be something else? It's just not good for business. I really like the people that hang out there but don't like to order a drink because of the...

If I could give this place place 0 stars I would. They need to update kitchen hours in the multiple places the have the restaurant listed. Called multiple times and no one answered, so decided to drive to see if they were serving food beause couldn't get a clear answer on the website and no one would answer the phone and when I got there the chick bartender was super rude. She didn't acknowledge us when we walked I and had an attitude when we asked if they were serving food. Horrible customer service and definitely not a customer friendly place. We come to wimberly all the time and will never try this place again. There's too many places with far more friendly...
