McDonald's — Restaurant in Winchester

Reading my last update, this visit was a hit Feb. 2023. The two for six dollars crispy chicken sandwiches and the hot cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing were enjoyed.

This place is so hit or miss. It's a true 50-50 chance drive thru. When it's good, it's good. When it's bad, it's bad. Two McDoubles ordered with no cheese were placed in the bag with receipts stapled to the wrappers that specified no cheese. Opening them, they both had cheese. Fail. Something packaged correctly, was my crispy chicken sandwich. After my recent BK experience, I had to try another chain for comparison. Meh. Three tiny pickles on top of a fried piece of chicken was very bland and not worth ordering again.

Wow! Whoever was in the Winsted McDonalds 12/29/19 around 4pm making the food gave us the worst fast food to go order we've ever had at any McDonalds nationwide over decades!!

I don't think it was because we used a coupon for two Big Mac's for five dollars, as we've used their coupons before and the food is just as it would be if purchased full price. Maybe our request to have one of the Big Mac's put on a seedless bun threw off the employee. I should have photographed them.

Both of the Big Mac's came with seedless regular buns, not one, one had no center roll at all in between the burgers, neither had cheese or pickles, one had no special sauce and the other maybe a half a teaspoon, little onion at all on either, and then both were doused with lettuce to the point it was all over the inside of the box, as well. Holy cow. We definitely have no desire to eat another Big Mac anytime soon, as a result.

This person should not be in the kitchen!

So for this one visit at this particular McDonald's, I would give it just one star. As I write collectively below about McDonald's as a chain, I give it four stars.

Overall, the only comment I can make about McDonald's is what would most of us do without it? It provides a great service to those on the road, in a hurry or simply famished. Now that they've finally added all day breakfast to the menu, something I thought they should have done for decades, it's even better. Prices vary. Amazingly, a customer can drive thru or walk in and get a value item meal for a buck, but regular orders, either alone or mixed in with the values, can add up to twenty...

Behind the counter is disgusting they cleaned around the sink with a dirty towel, the shake machine is covered with old dry shake mix and all surrounding equipment is covered with old shake mix the drink station looked like it hadn't been touched in a week. The worst part is I submitted a complaint last week to corporate and today it was no better. At this point I believe it to be a health risk.

Here we are 4 months after the last review and if anything this store has gotten worse. For some reason I thought that I live in the United States and we had a health department to set standards and enforce said standards. I guess I was wrong. The lobby is dirty(trash on most empty tables, trash and soda all over the drink station, trash on the floors) the shake machine is still covered with old shake mix and god knows what else. And to top it off they are still slow as can be. What a disgrace to a good name. It is ridiculous when a store manager can't read an order with 5 customers in the store. Was told what the order was and still couldn't get it right. I have been in stores that serve thousands of customers per day and they never looked as nasty as this store and were...

I WAS HERE ON 5/25/25 THIS MORNING WITH MY FIANCE AND I ORDERED A SAUSAGE MCGRIDDLE MEAL WHICH THEY OVER CHARGED ME FOR.. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY BREAKFAST MEAL CAME UP TO LIKE $12.. I DIDN'T WANT EGG AND CHEESE ON MY MCGRIDDLE.. JUST A PLAIN WITH A PIECE OF SAUSAGE.. IT SHOULDN'T OF BEEN THAT MUCH AND MY FIANCE ONLY WANTED THE TWO SAUSAGE MCMUFFIN SPECIAL SANDWICHES THAT ARE ONLY 2 FOR $3.. WHY DID HE GET OVERCHARGED AS WELL.. HIS WAS $5.49 BECAUSE THE ORDER TAKER DID NOT RING US UP RIGHT IN THE DRIVE THRU.. LUCKY FOR HER WE WERE ON A TIME CRUNCH AND HAD AN APPT TO GET TO.. OTHERWISE WE WOULD OF RETURNED THE FOOD AND CAME INSIDE. IT WAS RIDICULOUS HOW SHE GOT OUR ORDER WRONG.. MY FIANCE SAID IT'S OK BUT I WASN'T OK WITH IT.. I GIVE REVIEWS FOR MANY PLACES I EAT AT.
