Village Bean is an excellent little coffee shop in Village Green of Windham on Route 111. The breakfast menu is quite limited but the breakfast sandwiches are most certainly better than those served on the other side of the Interstate next door to the Mobil station. When it comes to your “bean” you have many choices with plenty of made-to-go coffee types available as well as actual beans to take home and prepare yourself. The desert case is scrumptious and decadent. The muffins are fresh and delicious. Unique local handy work is fun to peruse while you are waiting for your order. Seating inside is very nice with a bar at the window, small tables, and relaxing, cushioned couches and chairs too. There is even outside seating available. Very much recommended. Update: They now serve delicious gelato!

Very cute coffee shop. Has some novelty items like mugs, shirts and nice selection of snacks. The girl who helped me was very nice. I ordered a medium latte with almond milk and it was $8.00, and with a tip $9. it was a bit much... I’ve only paid that much for a coffee in NY. Starbucks isn’t even charging that. The latte was ok, generic almond milk, it was your average coffee shop late. I get trying to support small businesses but that’s quite a markup.

Definitely a cute place, but they made the drink right in front of me, and I think I just paid $6.75 for watery juice? It was good, just - wow, the price was unreasonable. It was the mango refresher. Just be aware that this is what you’re paying for. I’ll be looking for a cheaper coffee shop.

Today I apparently experienced the newest owner or manager of the Village Bean “in action”. Such rude behavior I have never seen exhibited by a business owner or manager. While waiting for an employee to FINISH making my drink, a man interrupted to ask about a pre-made drink on the counter…a ”call-in order” was the response. Next, this man walked out & around picked up not 1, but 2 self-serve coffee pumps and proceeded to “plunk then down” across the counter in front of me & my drink I was waiting to be completed. He then indicated the employee should take care of those 2 pumps IMMEDIATELY which she did. He PROCEEDED to walk away to the OPPOSITE END of the service counter and pour himself 2 CAPSFUL of some drink. NOW, I finally said I was waiting for MY “IN PROCESS” DRINK TO BE FINISHED & should not have to be waiting for the pumps to be taken care of. Without a word, he walked over, completed my order & rung up my drink. NO APOLOGY for the wait, the interruption, or the exceedingly rude behavior. I told him how shocked I was to find such rude behavior in this coffee shop, one I had so enjoyed while living in Windham in previous years. I further told him his behavior towards his employee or colleague was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, particularly in front of a customer !!! Thinking back now, I should have left the drink on the counter and walked out…leaving him with a sale to void!!! I vow to NEVER RETURN to this shop!!! So sad to think this was once the nicest little gathering place...

Really loved this coffee shop. Many of the employee's are a charm. The coffee and muffins are great. But as of late I've been having horrible experiences with the staff. Rude comments for one. Also tried to buy a pound of whole bean coffee. I waited to get the beans, when they came over with the beans they told me they only had about a half pound left. I said that was fine, but then another employee came over and took the bag away and said that it couldn't be sold. No one asked if they could get me something else or if the situation could be resolved. So I just left with the two coffee's I had already bought. There are two employee's that I just won't order espresso drinks from anymore either. They either make the drink wrong or are just snarky enough to make me not even bother ordering from them. It's too bad, I really liked this place, but I will probably be taking my...

The atmosphere is cozy. The staff is always friendly, unlike the owner who should be a bit more friendly and smile when customers come in. If you don’t want to lose customers; I’d think twice about the .75 for less ice. I got an X-large ice coffee with 3/4 cup full of ice. When she rang me up I saw the additional charge $.75 for less ice? I was shocked, and it wasn’t her fault, aside from the fact she mentioned she was new, which seems to be happening a lot there. It’s a quarter of a cup less not the other way around. I was already paying $5.00 for it. I realize prices have gone up, but I have been to other local small businesses and they don’t charge for less ice unless it’s no ice at all OR less than half! The other issue pastry isn’t always fresh. If you’re going to sell something, make sure it’s fresh-not try to pass It off...
