Spent a beautiful day in Vermont, but I was too late for where I initially planned to get food from, before heading home. So. I sat in the parking lot of the store I just finished at, searching for restaurants "near me". Nothing. I checked the reviews and photos, menus, and nothing looked great. If it was open, their french fries looked like they were frozen, basic, bland, fries. I changed my tactics to search "along route". After multiple more lackluster results, I stumbled upon this place. It reminded me of a place in Mystic, CT I've been to, and that filled me with instant hope. I start checking the menu and the reviews, it looks great! The food photos! 😍 so I decide, this is where we need to go for dinner. It was Saturday evening, and they take reservations 😅. They were booked until much later in the evening. We decided to roll the dice and see what happens. There is a bar, after all. You guys. They had exactly 2 seats at the bar, next to each other. It was meant to be.
Many at the bar seemed to be regulars but welcomed us and were so friendly! The bartender was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The food. THE FOOD! I am so picky. That is never a restaurants fault. This place was literally perfect. Food came out together, as requested, no hot plates (indicating they were sitting under a heat lamp), everything was fresh, cooked perfect, ugh. Just... flawless. So, because I looked online ahead of time, I knew they had desserts but didn't see a dessert menu. We asked the bartender, and she knew.

Every single item was an absolute home run! It makes me want to come back with reservations every time I go up there to make sure I...
Read moreI came to this location for the first time, I had 3 other people with me. We were all eager to try out the food and drinks. We walked into the bar room and it was busy, there was 1 table cleared, so we sat there. Three to four waiters walked by us, after 10 minutes one guy that worked there looked over and counted 4 using his fingers, and I'm assuming took 4 menus out. I thought he would be helping us next, but he brought those menus to another area on the other side of the restaurant. Two waitresses walked by us and looked over but never said anything or attempted to let us know that someone would be over to help. I made eye contact with them and attempted to let them know we were waiting. After waiting at least 15 minutes with no acknowledgement, we decided to leave and go somewhere else because it's not good business to let customers sit with no acknowledgement. We didn't have any menus, plates or anything else that may be confusion for 1 waiter to think that we were being helped. So it was just pure ignorance. We drove 45 minutes up from NH just to come here, but never will again. I called the restaurant after we left to tell a woman about my experience and she didn't have any sympathy for the situation and just said that we should have made reservations, I told her that we went to the bar area and sat at a table and there was no hostess seating anyone. Again, she didn't apologize or say anything except to defend about why, we the consumer, were in the wrong, when we did nothing except wait 20 minutes without service. It's never happened to me before at any restaurant and someone should have at least said we will be...
Read moreFirst time at Windsor Station. Decent selection of drafts. Ordered the mussles and crab cakes as appetizers and both were great. I had the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes. The Filet had a large piece of gristle on it and was lacking in flavour and somewhat dry (I ordered rare to medium rare). Wife had the chicken pasta in vodka sauce which had no flavour. She topped it off with a espresso martini which was watery. My black coffee was same. Friends with us had the fish special (swordfish I believe) which was tiny and the Pasta Alla Norma which was very spicy. Also beer (which was good) and espresso martini which was watery (my friends wife is a bartender fyi). After the bill was paid and we were 1/2 way thru our dessert drinks the server approached and wanted to know how long we would be. By tone and conversation it was apparent we were expected to be done. We were offered a different table if we wished to stay, which was the same size as our current one, so not sure why we had to move unless the people coming in had a usual table? We decided to leave and went outside where we continued our conversation. Multiple employees kept coming out to look at us. The server we had appeared and offered a table or bar seat if we were going to stay. Again we could sense we were expected to leave. Overall a 3 star because some of what we ordered was good and atmosphere was pretty good which weighed out...
