Ok, so the last time I was here it was over a year ago until today but I want to share my experience from the previous one before. I was with family and we dined in instead of ordering our food to go. Well the first time that I had been there it had been a while but anyways what I'm about to say next might come off as a bit shocking to some. The second time around last year I believe it was around August my family and I dined in late at night and when we got our food and as I begun to eat the guy that sits at the counter comes up behind me and grabs me by my ponytail and pulls it. Now, he says it was an accident and he apologized. I believe that was a fake apology and he meant to do it. Anyways so after that happened I just began to stop eating and was not ok after that. Eventually after I got done eating we didn't come back for a while. The last time I was there was with my dad and it didn't happen again.
Well my family and I went there for the first time in a while which was tonight and it was on V-Day and while we were waiting on our food the guy at the counter sees me and starts talking and making conversation to try and entertain my family and I. He said something about how he had a choker that I could wear as he was talking to my mom's beau about my brother and I sweeping and mopping the floors, scrubbing the toilet, and wiping the tables down if my brother and I were to work there.
Idk what the guy at the counter meant by choker. It may or may not have been a joke. Honestly, I thought it might have been a sexual remark that was made. I'm not going to say it was or wasn't. Half the time he was talking to my mom's beau the stuff he was talking about didn't make sense.
Anyways so all my mom and her beau told me was he was just playing around you don't have to take stuff so serious.
Normally when somebody lays hands on your kid or kids you gon have to stand up and do or say something.
There's one thing that's for sure though. You can be nice to ppl but you can never be too nice to ppl.
Believe you me, I was unaware of his intentions but I think after he grabbed my ponytail and pulled it. His intuition were made clear then.
You would think that after this happened we wouldn't have been back there since.
That'd be the first and last time I expect to go...
Read moreWe were traveling to Birmingham and it took longer than anticipated (I forgot traveling with 3 kids adds many hours to your trip). We were looking for a place to eat and my husband found this place. I grumbled a little because it was about 10 minutes off our route, but man was it worth it!
It was quiet and not very crowded. Laid back, which is good with kids. The menu was quite varied for a smaller diner. We were all able to find something we enjoyed and that doesn't happen often. My husband ordered dry rub wings and sweet potato fries and he had nothing but good things to say - a rare occurrence. My girls both had burgers and sweet potato fries and they ate every bit. My son had shrimp, fries, and macaroni & cheese. He also had no complaints (another rare occurrence) and gobbled down every bit (a not so rare occurrence for a 13 y/o boy). Grandpa had a burger and fries and I ordered chicken strips and sweet potato fries. The chicken strips were perfect! Crispy with juicy chicken!
Everyone was nice and the service was good. The food came out fresh and hot. My husband was thrilled that they didn't pre-salt/over-salt the food as he often finds that to be a real problem when we go out to eat.
Anyway, a pleasant find on our journey. If we ever end up this way again I'm sure we would try to come by - it is definitely worth it! My son said, "I wish they had this...
Read moreFood was great, but customer service was terrible. The woman gave me a moment to decide what I wanted to eat. Then she started to take my order and walked away to the back where they were cooking the food. Came back and instead of taking my order filled up 3 ladies with their refills. Then walked back to the back again to do something then she finally came back and took my order. While I was waiting to receive my order with my sister, this lady got into an argument with one of the cooks in the back and dropped profanity not once, but 3 different times. This is very unprofessional. After the profanity they all 3 started laughing and yelling. Knowing good and well they had customers in the building. Haven't been to this restaurant in years since I now live out of town. And was very unhappy with my experience. Makes me not want to ever go there again and I loved eating there growing up with my sister and grandparents. Customer service needs to be worked on or get new workers. This was...
