Cash or check ONLY - always worth the stop! The sign says "since 1987" and I'm almost certain everything at this adorable drive-in is still original--and I mean that in the best way! We've eaten here twice, when in Winfield for sporting events, and it is the highlight of our trip. Every single thing on the menu is delicious and you can it's made fresh to order with quality ingredients. I never thought I'd feel so passionate about a "fast food" joint, but trust me when I say it's worth a stop. We've tried the burgers, corn dogs, fries and onion rings. My picky 8 yo rated the onion rings 10/10 and I have to agree. The star on the menu for me has got to be the strawberry shortcake! Service is fast and friendly. The Cardinal Drive Inn has got a good thing going and I hope the continue for many years to come.

Hello nostalgia, this is an adorable gem of a bygone era. This is a simple American fare, yes it is most likely frozen to start but it was freshly made to order and came fast. The service was spectacular, it was slightly crowded but it is noon on a Monday. Would recommend for a tasty stop and contribute to a nice local eatery.

Best burgers and amazing peanut butter milkshake. A fun throwback to the 1950s with 1950s prices. We’ve traveled through over 45 states and our family looks for local eateries and spots to meet friendly local people. This place hit the spot in every way. Remember, cash only here. Enjoy!

My family and I have been getting food from here since the very early 1990s, and i've always liked it. My favorite from here is a #2 with a side of onion rings. One thing to note though, they're kinda old-fashioned as far as paying goes, so if you're wanting to order from here, it is cash-only as they're not equipped to use credit or debit cards, which they have written on signs in the windows of the kitchen area. However, their menu is great, and if my memory serves me right, you could order anything off of it at any time of the day and they'll make it for you. I think that applies for the breakfast menu as well, but it's been a while, so i'm...

If you’re rolling through Winfield and skip the Cardinal Drive-In, you’ve made a life mistake that even Google Maps can’t reroute. The food is cooked fresh to order—none of that “been sitting under a heat lamp since Tuesday” business—and somehow it comes out faster than my patience disappears in the McDonald’s drive-thru line. The staff are the kind of friendly that makes you wonder if they’ve mistaken you for family, and the prices are so good you’ll double-check the receipt just to make sure they didn’t forget to charge you for half your meal. Honestly, it feels like stepping back in time, but with better...
