My husband and I occasionally visit family in Winfield and usually end up eating lunch in town. This was our second visit to Mosa and it's definitely a top choice going forward.
Food: The food is amazing. My husband and I both got the salmon bento box, and everything was delicious. Given that the bento box contains a decent variety, I think it's a safe bet that all of their food is really good.
Service: It's a food truck, so there's really only two questions. Was the person who took our order friendly? Yes. Was the food ready in a timely manner? Also yes. Plus, you can order ahead.
Atmosphere: This one is tricky. With food trucks, you usually have to provide your own atmosphere. And frankly, if you're looking for atmosphere, go to a restaurant. But since Google asked... Mosa offers two picnic tables, which is more "atmosphere" than most food trucks offer. Every order is packed to go and I think most customers eat elsewhere. Our first visit was in October, so we definitely didn't stick around. Our second visit was on a sunny day in March, so we ate at a picnic table. There are only two things I can complain about that aren't inherent to outdoor dining, and they're both minor. The first is proximity to the road. You're basically a stone's throw from the road. But there wasn't a ton of traffic so road noise wasn't a big deal. Besides, the patch of reeds in the nearby ditch is great for birds, so we got to listen to birds. 🙂 My second complaint is that the finish on the picnic tables is glossy, which isn't great when the sun hits the right angle. We tried to open the umbrella, but whoever last closed it tied it with a knot instead of a bow. We were almost done by then so it wasn't worth the trouble.
In summary, I definitely...
Read moreFantastic and varied menu. The portion sizes are large enough to be considered full meals--especially the deep fried sushi rolls (the Kansas Roll was delightful).
The Bento boxes offer a lot of different menu items at a reasonable price (the hibachi steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender; the fried rice and soba noodles delicious; the hibachi vegetables sliced thinly, but substantially enough to be recognizable and flavorful; and the California rolls and mini spring rolls were delightful--there was even a segmented portion of the container for wasabi and sliced ginger and a small container for eel sauce). The food was flavorful and didn't really need additional condiments like soy sauce to taste fantastic.
The prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly; I highly...
Read moreThe worst Hibachi food I have ever had in my life. They were also out of everything. Our group of 4 only had 2 people served actual hibachi food. They charged my moms card and then came back to tell us they were out of everything they had been charged for. After waiting for 10 minutes the guy who took our order was walking out and the cook ran out after him asking where he was going and where our food was. So we just sat there for no reason while nothing was being made. Then when we got the food there was multiple things in there they said they were “out of”. Definitely a horrible experience and the worst hibachi food I’ve ever tasted. The rice was hard AND somehow chewy and the steak was pretty...
