China Chef — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I will never go to this restaurant again! I’ve had two bad experiences. The first time I ordered chicken fried rice and they gave me shrimp fried rice. I’m allergic to shrimp so I would never order it. I discovered the mistake when I got home and I sent my daughter to return the shrimp fried rice with the receipt. The man who works at the front desk taking orders and answering the phone is very irritable and unfriendly. When my daughter returned the shrimp fried rice, he argued with my daughter that I had asked for shrimp even when my daughter told him I’m allergic to shrimp. He exchanged the shrimp for chicken fried rice but he was very rude to the point that my daughter doesn’t ever want to go in the restaurant again. I tried again tonight (12-29-19) to order by phone and the person who answered the phone was short, impatient and downright rude to the point that I told him to cancel my order. I told him he has a bad attitude and I don’t want to order anything from them. This restaurant has a lot of people who order from them so they treat their customers disrespectfully as though they don’t have to offer any type of good customer service. I won’t ever go there again. I’m in the market for another Chinese Restaurant. One that appreciates...

As a long time customer over 8 yrs at times the portions do appear fair for the prices they charge. It's just been over the 3 past years they totally rip off customers. Example in buying a quart of pork fried rice paying a extra $3 for meat & $1 for veggies when I get my order home to eat it's ridiculous how they don't put the extra items we pay for. I have been ripped off for the last time, each time in the past couple years this continues to happen & I tell myself I am never going back to China Chef. Some months pass as I drive through the parking lot I decided to give them another chance. I purposely advise the gentleman at the order window that the last time I was there I didn't get the extra meat and veggies I payed for! He says ok I will make sure they put the extra items I pay my hard earned money for. And once again they Ripp me off this is just one example of the different meals I purchased a long with now the small egg rolls they pedal. I will never ever go there again this time I have reached my end of giving this place my money. With this economy and inflation only a glutton for punishment would return back to a place that takes advantage...

Took my grandfather who lives in Winston-Salem to this China Chef on Peters creek pkwy. They are close to a restaurant we went to, called Great Wall. Great Wall is nothing compared to China Chef and the lady at Great Wall is a weirdo. These people at China Chef took our order quickly and got us our food quickly. They asked my grandfather how was his food and asked me a few times too. Attentive, but not too attentive and they did a really nice job. They also got everything we ordered right. The only bad thing was when my grandfathers ribs came the guy said oh hold on.... this isn't your ribs. its the call-in customers. He apologized but you should try harder to remember whos food is whos. They brought us our ribs in a timely manner and they were good but that was very scatterbrained of the guy to do that.
