The Only Bad Part? I Didn’t Order Two!
Walking into Abby’s Pizza in Winston feels like stepping into a pizza paradise where the sauce flows like rivers and the cheese stretches farther than my New Year’s resolutions. The crust has that magical crunch that says, “Yes, you do deserve this,” and the toppings are piled so high I needed a fork… and a minor pep talk to tackle it.
The staff? Friendlier than a golden retriever at a barbecue. The pizza? So good it made me forget I was supposed to be on a diet. (Sorry, salad. It’s not you, it’s me… and Abby’s.)
If you’re passing through Winston and don’t stop at Abby’s, just know you’re making a life-altering mistake — one that can only be corrected with a large pizza and zero regrets.
Pro tip: Get extra napkins. And maybe stretchy pants. You’re gonna need them.
I wrote a poem in lieu:
In the small town of Winston, where the brave dare to roam, There lies a great treasure — a pizzery throne. ’Twas Abby’s, the mighty! The legend, the lore! Where crusts are baked golden and cheese dares to soar.
I journeyed forth hungry, my spirit worn thin, Dreaming of pepperoni and mozzarella within. Through the doors I did burst, like a hero of old, Drawn forth by aromas more precious than gold.
The pie was bestowed with a flourish and flair, Each slice a round table, each topping a prayer. The sausage, the mushrooms, the rich velvet cheese — I wept and fell to my knees.
The sauce was ambrosia! The crust — heaven’s floor! I conquered one pizza… then wished I’d ordered three more. The staff, gallant knights, offered napkins and smiles, As I feasted like royalty, stacked plates in tall piles.
O Abby’s! O beacon! O sanctified flame! Forever thy pizza shall carry thy name. Let bards sing of toppings! Let poets recite! For Abby’s Pizza in Winston is...
Read moreI ordered a large family combination and large spuds yesterday the 17th. I waited over a hour and my food never came. I called back and when I said who I was the girl hung up on me. I called back again and talked to a guy. He said for some reason my order was canceled. Said he thinks his delivery person already left. The girl that took my order got on the line she I asked if they could retake my order and I was told the driver left for the night so no I couldn’t get my order. She said but she would put $40 credit on my phone number. Asked for my phone number. I gave it to her and again she said she would credit me $40 for the inconvenience. I said ok, couldn’t do much else at this point. After working hard all day I was tired and hunger. So just called back. The same girl answered. As soon as she found out who I was she hung up on me. I called back and talked to another girl. She said after explaining what happened to her she checked my number and said no credit is on my number and said to call back and talk to the manager tomorrow. I asked if he will be there tomorrow and she said I don’t know. I’m very unhappy with how I...
Read more4-25-2024 about 5:00 p.m. We just left Abby's in Winston to pickup a pizza to go. When we were paying for the pizza and person that took the order didn't document how we wanted our tomatoes on the pizza correctly. The young man at the register said he could fix it. When we got the pizza the tomatoes were not as requested. I was not to happy after two people could not get this right. When I told the employee, who was a young lady, about the situation she was so determined to make sure that we did not leave unhappy. I really appreciated her concern! Not a huge deal just a little frustrating. I didn't catch her name but she is an asset to your business. Another post for Abby's in Winston. We occasionally go there for their Thirsty Thursday, order a pizza to go and have a beer. We usually eat a couple pieces there and enjoy it fresh from the oven. They bring us our pizza and 2 plates because they know our routine....
