Iâve been a long time customer on and off and I am very disappointed. They always had decent food and our family has always ordered their tamales, quesadillas, gorditas, chimichanga, chips and queso. Then it went downhill.. I made a very bad decision to give it a try again. The owner had always been very sweet and caring. Last week we got delivery. We ordered their enchiladas. When I received my order I thought the chimichanga looked like enchiladas, it was totally covered in red sauce and toppings so I didnât actually see the two individual enchiladas. The other dish we received was 3-4 individual mini soft taco looking things with red sauce on them, cheese crumbles and raw onion. I called and tried to explain what I had there and the owner was insistent that I got a âwrong orderâ. She kept cutting me off and wouldnât let me really talk . That she would send the correct order back out. So the next one arrives. Now I had 4 boxes of these little taco looking things again. So frustrating!!! So I called again and took photos telling the owner something is not right here, please let me text you the photos.. she still cut me off, was being rude and not listening to anything I was trying to tell her. Then ⌠finally she listened! She was telling me that these 3-4 little taco looking things were the enchiladas !!! Why she couldnât take the time the first time I called is beyond me. No one makes enchiladas like this ! Even classic. The food was absolutely terrible on top of everything else! I had never seen enchiladas like this. It was bland, cold and the chicken was dry as a bone. Beans were flavorless, the chimichanga was soggy and terrible tasting.. They will never get my business again. I hadnât ordered there in quite awhile because the food had gotten way under par over the years, and decided to give it a try again after seeing a menu in my mailbox....
Read moreSo today on my way home from my parents I stopped by because it was Taco Tuesday. I parked and noticed a sign that said "under remodel return January". We'll it's January so I went to go inside, but the door was locked. A gentleman opened the door and let me know they were closed, but then offered to make food still. I politely declined because I didn't wanna be that guy. The man introduced himself as the owner and let me know they were doing a food photo shoot and if I didn't mind them taking photos of the food it was free. Free is Free and I accepted the offer. The owner let me know he had just bought the business from the previous owner, of who I remember since I was one of their first customers 17 years ago. The inside has been completely gutted and updated to a open floor plan, with a more inviting dine in area. Anyone who remembers the old layout will probably remember no seating, a salsa bar, and register. Was really a grab and go set up. Now there is music, new tables, and led menu boards. The owner let me know that they are just waiting for THE city of Winter Springs to sign off so they can open. So hopefully soon.
Food review: I had a pork sandwich with refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, a avacado sauce and a white sauce all on a toasted roll. The sandwich was delicious! Pork was slow roasted and the sauces really helped to put it over the top. The couple text to me had a rice bowl and tacos, which looked delicious. I ate every bite of the sandwich and washed it down with a Mexican coke.
Really made a impact on me how kind the owner was and he is a UCF graduate, so he is a home town business owner! I will definitely be back when they go live to see...
Read moreI was excited to eat here because of the Chilangoâs I love and remember years ago and they did the renovation and got new owners. I ate there today with my boyfriend. Most of the menu items have changed since new ownership. The chips and salsa came out in a togo bag and a togo container while dining in. The chips were stale and when asked to replace them, we were met with more chips that were stale and extremely salty. My boyfriendâs chicken quesadilla came out with Mexican rice on the side. The rice was too fluffy for Mexican rice and the quesadilla was extremely soggy and greasy. My chicken flautas had barely any flavor to them and a strange aftertaste. The atmosphere was nothing of how it used to be. The plus side is the girl at the register was nice; however, nothing was offered in place of the meals but another meal choice. Since the two meals had not been of quality, we opted not to change them out and just leave. There is more seating but hardly any decor which under the previous owners gave a more authentic feel. The new ownership has not done Chilangoâs justice. The previous owners cared about their customers and feedback received in house. They knew authentic Mexican food meanwhile the new ownershipâs food lacks flavor and quality and is more comparable to a fast food restaurant. Their drink options have decreased (having removed the soft drinks fountain) and the food options are costing more for less quantity of food and a lower quality. I will not...
