I’m torn on this review because this place has some really cool stuff but there were enough negatives to bring it down a few stars. For starters, it’s a really cool themed park/playground that has a little nautical theme of boats, sea creatures, etc. it’s very different and the kids loved it. The playground had stuff for all ages, with lots of things to climb, and a really soft ground surface. We went during the cold season so we didn’t get to enjoy the splash pad. There was a sand box area, with a sand table, and a nice field with a basketball court nearby as well. My youngest especially loved all the wildlife near the little lake/pond like ducks, turtles, ibis, etc. in other words, lots of cool stuff.
But there was some negatives sadly. It was in a sketchy neighborhood. The whole area felt a little neglected. Since the playground seemed really new, I wonder how long it will take before the playground gets rundown also. For example, the basketball rims were pretty bent, and some were unplayable. Then the absolute worst part was an unfortunate side effect of nature. There were bird droppings all over the place. Amazingly the sand area seemed clean, and for the most part the playground was clean. If you walked anywhere near the lake though, you WILL have poop on your shoes! Then at the end we saw poop on one of the slides, and it looked like someone maybe got into their shoes and wiped it on the slide. Gross. Gross enough to probably not go back, at least until the kids can watch out on their own.
One last thing, there were...
Read moreIt's okay, a single soccer field with average grass quality, a swing set with 2 kids swings and 2 regular swings but unshaded, and a few shaded benches to rest on. It does however have a decent-sized splash pad with fountains embedded in the concrete that spray way up in the air, surrounded by a fence, so little kids can have a great time in bathing suits or whatever during the summer. There is a network of sidewalks around a pond that you can run or walk on as well although overall the park is not that big. To my knowledge pets are not allowed either. It would be a better park if the city would put in a playground set and shade the swing set like most...
Read moreWe love this park! It has a fun nautical theme, sand pit, play structures, picnic Pavillion and splash pad. The only thing I would mention is there tends to be an influx of older kids who just sit on the playgrounds which blocks it for kids trying to play, this has happened the last 3 times we have been there. The splash pad is also very tiny and obviously meant for young children but we've been hesitant to bring our Littles there due to seeing older kids riding in and out of the splash pad on scooters skateboards bikes etc and holding the gate open for that purpose. Just seems unsafe with small children, toddlers and baby's playing in...
