So we finally tried Git-N-Messy tonight! Thanks to a review earlier today in a Facebook group I'm in, I messaged my bf while we were both at work earlier today, and said I really wanted to go try Git-N-Messy and their mac n cheese for dinner tonight!
I don't normally do reviews or reviews about food. But I've been trying to more, especially with all the shortages/struggles in restaurants and issues during covid so bear with me!
Everyone was so nice! We walked in and were told to sit anywhere, so we picked our seats. We ordered a couple beers and waters, then I ordered the slow smoked pork sandwich with the sweet BBQ sauce and then mac n cheese as my side. My bf ordered a full rack or ribs, their spicy BBQ sauce, baked beans, and the sidewinder fries. We also ordered the Cajun pretzel to start!
Oh my goodness.. the Cajun pretzel was fabulous, I forgot to take a picture we were so busy enjoying it! My bf and I have always enjoyed cheese with our pretzels but the Cajun ranch that came with it had a flavorful kick and we used it up much faster than the cheese sauce!!
The mac n cheese was exactly what I hoped for, delicious! Pretty much the biggest and only downside for us is we wanted larger side portions! 😅 Everything was so good that we were sad we ran out of our sides so quickly. My pork sandwich was smoked to perfection! The meat practically melted in my mouth and had great flavor and my bf finished his entire rack of ribs and said they were delicious!
We finished off our meal with the banana pudding, my gosh how yummy just like my grandma makes it, real southern comfort food!! And not soggy vanilla wafers either.. fresh and delicious pudding!
We also got to meet the owner too! He came by often throughout the evening, and asked our names and how we enjoyed our meal. We also found out we can sit outside and bring our pup with us next time we come and he asked about our dog and what his name was! Very personable and I can't even remember the last time we EVER had that at a restaurant. We were almost shocked by the gesture and weoved every bit of our time out tonight and our meal, and ending on such a person level was basically icing on the cake for me!!
We were thoroughly impressed with Git-N-Messy and...
Read moreThis is a combination review of Red-Eye's Git-N-Messy Smokehouse and Perfect Pours taproom which are next door to each other in the Villaggio plaza on 434 in Winter Springs. Being the 4th of July weekend we were on the hunt for some good bbq and cold beers. We set our sights on Red-Eye's and ventured off. Arriving slightly before they opened on Sunday at noon, we're greeted and invited in by Chris, one of the owners. Chris gave us the lay of the land and Morgan, our server, quickly showed up to take our orders and assist with the menu. Two of us ended up sharing a Half Salad ($5), garlic toast ($1) and their 3 Meat Sampler with pork, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, green beans and two sauces ($25). The salad, garlic toast and three meat sampler was just enough for 2 of us. The meat was oak smoked to perfection and the mac and cheese was some of the best we've ever enjoyed. They have a full bar and a decent selection of beers. As we were looking for a brew more along the lines of a stout, and Red-Eye's didn't have any on tap, they suggested trying Perfect Pours next door and if we found something we liked bringing it back to the restaurant and having it with our lunch. Or, you can order your food and bring it over to Perfect Pours; either way 2 nice options. Over at Perfect Pours we met Griffin who helped us pick out a nice Porter and a brown ale to bring back over to the restaurant. At Perfect Pours, you have the opportunity to try many different beers/wines that you pay for by the ounce or if/when you make up your mind you can pour yourself a glass and off you go. This is a great marriage of barbecue, beer and any type of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage of your choice between the two establishments. Definitely on our radar to go back and try more food and beverages at both places. Btw, Perfect Pours also has Pinball machines, a ping-pong table and a Foosball table and Red-Eye's has plenty of TVs for the...
Read moreI haven't been to a place to eat BBQ that I would rate 5 star in so long. Normally if you have had one you've had them all. Maybe a thing or 2 different but not by much. This place...good Lord this place was so DAMN good. It's flavor is unmatched. This is NOT a cookie cutter BBQ place. This place has got to be the BEST BBQ I have ever tasted. My favorite was the St. Louis ribs. These babies are fall right off the bone, melt in your mouth beautifully flavored meat. The brisket and the pork were also very good. If you like a white cheese macnchez you'll love theirs. I can rave on the baked beans as they were just regular beans. Now the green beans... holy moly they were.AMAZING. They have bacon and heaven mixed in to make such an incredible side. The French fries are a mix of wedge and curly. Seasoned beautifully you can eat these with or without sauce. They have this bacon that is its own category. Not normal by any means. It's thick and a must try. It has a small bit of sauce on it that adds a tad bit of smokey sweetness. If you don't care for thick bacon this may not be for you. Almost like Jerky. If you like sausage, they have a cheddar jalapeño smoked sausage that has a great flavor and the spicy level is nice. If you don't like anything spicy then skip it. We had the most incredible service. No one wants to work now-a-days but this guy treated us like we were the most important table he's ever waited on. Super friendly and knowledgeable of everything there. Darryl was the best server we have ever had. The place is very clean and well kept up. Oh and if you like banana pudding DONT leave without it. This will be forever our new BBQ place. Go try it out you won't be sorry. Unless you hate flavor and good food. I can't wait to go back. They have a few different sauces to choose from. Delicious. Try the moonshine one. So dang good...spicy...
