I ordered a #28 which was "chicken chow mein". which happen to be some bizzare slop of chicken gravy, bamboo shoots and onions with NO NOODLES?! Are you kidding me. The price for it was fine but I just threw it out. It came with the blandest pork fried rice I've ever had, it wasn't dry but wasn't good. Deep brown. No flavor, tolerable but not worth buying. Egg drop soup smelled like burnt water and consisted of cheap can veg and mushrooms. Not at all how egg drop soup is supposed to be. I also ordered a small order of beef teriyaki which was okay. Again, hardly any terriaki flavor but the beef was thicker and juicier than other versions I've tried from other restaurants. The restaurant itself was bland, and uncomfortable standing in because it had nothing but empty chairs so I and every other customer that came in just waited in their cars. It's not a place that's welcoming enough to eat in. I've never been to a place that didn't have menus to take home. I have no idea where 4 or 5 star reviews come from except probably inexperienced white folks who live in the country with no concept of taste or what chinese food is. The food is not going to make you sick but it's among the sloppiest chinese food I've ever had. I'm just going to make my own at home from now on. Never going again. Please learn to cook and use better ingredients. Up your prices if...
Read moreMistakes do get made. But to be denied buying additional food because they got the order wrong and smaller than we ordered, certainly goes against everything we know about customer satisfaction. Woman behind the counter with blue Red Sox shirt, blamed us and belligerently refused to acknowledge the mistake, nor help us get the amount we ordered. When another employee offered to help, the woman snapped at her and said " he gets what he gets, it would take us 2 hours to get the food and we are closing". When I later called and asked about her offensive attitude towards us as a customer her response was "so what". when asked how she would feel about a bad review she again said "so what". I asked if that was her final say, she said "bye, bye, have a nice day". This on New Years Eve with about 6-8 other customers waiting to get their orders. With this attitude I would wager that next New Years Eve, this will be a closed...
Read moreMy husband and I have been eating at China Empress for a long time. I don't know if they got a new cook or are really short handed in the kitchen, but we'll be finding a new Chinese restaurant to eat at. I called 2 hours ahead of when I wanted my order to be ready. I got there and still waited 45 minutes for my food!! And unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. The food was overcooked, dry and had no flavor. It was almost like they cooked it when I called and just let it sit for 2hours. And, to top it all off, the duck sauce was all over the inside of the bag. Definitely not worth the headache of giving them ANOTHER chance to mess up our order. Well be looking for a different Chinese restaurant to try. We may as well have just thrown away the over $50 we spent because I'll be buying lunch for the next couple of days. The leftovers will be going in the trash. So...
