Ted's Trackside Grill — Restaurant in Winthrop

We were in town for my wife’s stepmother’s funeral. My father-in-law brought us to this establishment for lunch. I have been to Maine before so I automatically wanted the lobster roll. Unfortunately they ran out of lobster for lobster roll. But what they did have was enough lobster for lobster stew which they made on the fly for me. I’m pretty sure I did not thank them as profusely as I intended to. Instead, I got a Reuben sandwich with a side of poutine.

While, I’m not a maniac , and I’m very much Texan I do appreciate good service. This is not the service that you would normally find in a super busy establishment like Applebee’s. This is the kind of service that we all hope and dream to find and the staff on hand were amazing. The food was right up there with everything else.

I had the bomb (chopped steak, peppers, onions and cheese on a crusty roll. Partner had the burger Mine was perfectly done, with ALMOST too much cheese. The crusty bots of the roll were excellent. The soggy bits were soggy, but still tasted great. The burger was perfectly done, just the barest shade of pink on the inside. The roll (where do the get their rolls?!?!) Was soft and spongy. It came with an onion ring on the burger; how could that go wrong??? The fries were meh. They seemed hand cut, but I'm not sure. They were soggy and limp. Flavor was meh. Service was ok. Staff was nice, but they were obviously busy, and weren't interested in conversation (at least with us). Atmosphere was shabby 1970s diner. Kinda fun. Parking was muddy. I forgot to check the bathroom. Go for the food. Take a friend. Have some lunch after garage saling. May not be a great date...

Here at Charlie’s Chevrolet in Winthrop, we order our lunch and occasional breakfast at Ted’s Trackside in Winthrop. Personally, on days I order out, 95% of the time I choose Ted’s Trackside. I send customers to them also. Of the dozens of meals our crew has ordered, there is never a complaint. The food is always great. Another great thing is the positive energy and friendliness of the staff. Kudos to Melissa and Ted for running a top notch business in Winthrop. May you continue to have success and it’s been an amazing experience watching you grow your business!
