I have been frequenting this establishment for about 2 1/2 years now after following my friends’ band here for a gig back in 2023. Aside from enjoying the venue for the show I was made to feel very welcome (and safe) the whole while meeting and getting along with all of the floor staff right away. I find that they get top notch acts in there every weekend many of which hail from Brooklyn. I also meet a lot of patrons from Staten Island and Brooklyn who love the place. That should tell you something given the distance and tolls involved. I myself drive over 20 miles each way but try to make a show every week so I don’t miss out. It would be worth it to me just for the great live acts but the staff and friends I have made there are just icing on the cake. 3 bartenders on duty on bar nights for such a small place ought to tell you something too - they are constantly kept busy and they keep on top of the bar and the tables nonstop. I haven’t sampled too many dishes there but I loved everything I tried which was cooked well, served hot & fresh, was filling and priced right. The physical location might be off putting to some nestled alongside the tank farms but pay it no mind. Stop on in and get a feel for the atmosphere, the bands and the people for yourself. Idk of any other place within a 25 mile radius that has as much to offer in multiple categories as Moby Dick’s but everyone is different. You should experience it in person and judge for yourself which I urge anyone looking for a great night out to do. Friday & Saturday nights for bands but arrive early as seating fills up fast. Can’t say enough about Mary, Debbie, Cassie (who?!?), Tracy, John, Bob and all the rest of the great staff there. Keep up the great work guys! -...

I have been here a number of times to see friends playing in a band unfortunately now bands are only allowed to play until 12:00 AM a house next to the bar was sold and the people who purchased the house complained about the noise which is crazy you buy a house next to a bar what did you expect? I was here recently for a celebration of life for a friend of mine Tommy Coester that passed away, it was packed with many of his friends who chose to honor him through various songs and bands playing together it was a very nice tribute. There should have been more people bartending cause waiting to get a drink took forever. I have never had food here I tried to order some to go when I was getting ready to leave the other night but they told me that...

Only good for locals, woodbridge police stalk the two roads in and out of the area and often have road blocks in this area for dwi checkpoints. Enough reason not to go to the bar and have even one beer IMO.

The place itself, not too clean, parking lot and street really tight to pull in/out of. i had 2 beers first one they gave me a miller lite draft gave a $5 no change and took about 25 min to get served it, next one I got my change on from the other bartender but flat as hell served something else entirely than what i asked for.

Only went because of a friend invite, wont be back unless i go by boat down the street at the docks if a friend...

I went here last night, had a fun time! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, well done. Sweet potato fries. It was good! The three gentlemen that engaged in karaoke with the audience were marvelous!! Quite skilled with the guitar (and drumset!) When I’m in the area again, I might drop by! I’m not from the area, but was craving a bite to eat before going back home. It seemed intimidating at first, biker vibes you know? But everybody was warm and just enjoying the atmosphere! It was worth stopping by!

Moby Dicks in Sewaren is a beloved local haunt with a welcoming, "old-school" vibe and hearty comfort food. Highlights include their legendary chili. juicy burgers, and homemade pizzas. all served in a lively atmosphere filled with friendly regulars. Weekend live bands add to the fun, though it can get busy—visit midweek for a quieter experience. Open late (until 2 AM) with reasonable prices, it’s ideal for casual eats or a night out. A true neighborhood gem!
