It was July4th and I wanted to see the fireworks up close. Going to NY wasnt an option. I made a right choice by hitting Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park. I got to see the fireworks up close. The place had a lot of people, but definitely not as crowded as NY can be. Local band was playing right before the fireworks. A few food trucks here and there. The crowd was mostly elderly people and a few families. Driving back isnt a good option though. It was stand still traffic with half of teh road blocked for pedestrians..I would suggest parking a bit far away and walking back to your car.

I would suggest this park anyone who wants to go by the waterfront and have a...

Located on a small peninsula this Park is a secluded gem for people who like to bike or walk/ run in the loops. There are two beautiful gazebos with benches around, as well as the area designated for kids. The park overlooks Arthur Kill bay and looking towards New York you can see the Outerbridge crossing. It is a good place for someone who would like to sit down and read a book. The beach itself is a wildlife protected area so many animals like wild goose or rabbits are just wandering around. The real downside were mosquitoes. I’m not sure if it’s the time of the year but towards 6-7pm it got really bed and we...

I organized our annual family gathering and picked Alvin William's memorial park as the venue. The park is very clean, the bathrooms were a few feet away from the BBQ area, I also had the Gazebo reserved as well, the park didn't disappoint, there were many tables and BBQ grills for adults to use. There was a playground area for the children and it included swings! Slides, and many other wonderful things to keep the kids busy for the day! More than enough parking available, the rangers passed by to check on everyone occupying the park! It is a beautiful maintained park!! I reccomend the park...

Wonderful park close to the water that separates New York and New Jersey with Outer Bridge crossing in the backdrop. It has 0.8 mile loop that can be used to bike or jog or walk. It was not crowded when I visited. The entrance needs some more welcoming, and renovation is going on right now for an improvement. There is enough parking, but the park can get easily crowded during the summer events. I got very good snaps of the sunset from this park. Love to visit again soon.
