Let me preface this review by stating that Iâve been eating Bridgemanâs ice cream for over 65 years. I have lots of great memories of frequenting various MN locations long ago, and still occasionally purchase their bulk ice cream product at local grocery stores. I find the Bridgemanâs ice cream quality to be generally good and have a long sentimental attachment to many of its flavors like Cherry Nut.
I had never visited the Woodbury location prior to yesterday. The place is modern, clean and inviting and the two young, teenage staff members on hand were acceptable.
Hereâs a very strange and unexpected oddity observation-The place has NO PRICE SIGNAGE whatsoever on the wall to help guests understand how much anything costs. This is simply unacceptable. I donât recall ever visiting a food or dessert fast casual establishment in my entire life that doesnât clearly display retail costs to guests. When I pointed this out to one of the young team members, I simply got a bewildered shrug and was shown a printed menu next to the order station that offered pricing. That menu displays the various ice cream options in a small font, best read with a magnifying glass.
Whether the owner of this shop has made a purposeful decision to hide price points, not displaying clear signage, is unknown. I would urge them to rectify this going forward and offer full and clear price transparency. As a point of information, prices here are a bit elevated in my personal opinion and the value dynamic is not where it should be. This, of course, does come from a Senior who well recalls more favorable Bridgeman prices with nostalgia! Still, though, Iâm not Rip Van Winkle, and do know what things cost...
Read moreDisappointed in the lack of consistency here. First off I know this place has a high turnover and is mainly ran by teenagers. I gave the consideration and kept coming back but tonight was a final straw for me. I usually get a turtle sundae. Tonight I ordered one I came in at 7pm and there was a large party seated with their ice cream already and no one else. So they werenât busy. First of all no greeting whatsoever by the so called supervisor but again a child so I gave a pass. I ordered my sundae with no cherry. Got my order with a bright cherry on top. I didnât say anything because it seemed petty but again it was irritating because the person couldnât follow a simple instruction. I get home and eat my sundae only to find out it doesnât have any pecans on it. So not only does it have a cherry but missing a MAIN ingredient. The reason Iâm so bent today is because it happens too often. Too many mistakes and negligence. Thatâs why I refuse to tip. They donât deserve it. I understand itâs young adults but at what point at yall going to try a bit harder. The sundae is almost 8$. I call them to speak to the manager this time and of course there was none on duty. The supervisor was there and he took my complaint. He did say he was sorry but honestly, I was really irritated. I doubt this review will change anything but honestly people are better off going to Dairy Queen. Cheaper, just as good and more consistent....
Read moreI have been waiting to go to Bridgeman's as I went to the one in Sunray all of my childhood. I ordered a chocolate dipped waffle bowl with peppermint bon bon ice cream. When the wait staff handed it to me with 3 tiny scoops of ice cream, I looked at her and asked her, "Is this really all the ice cream I get with this huge waffle bowl?" She answered yes. I was so surprised by this that I left. When I actually got down to eating it, there wasn't enough ice cream in there to finish the expensive waffle bowl. I did go back and asked for the manager, who was very young. I told him what happened, and all he could do was give me a dumbfounded look on his face. I just held up my hand and said I'd never be back. I'm pretty sure he didn't care. That was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I could have gone to Cub and bought 2 gallons of mong chocolate chip and been happier.
Don't waste your time here. They obviously don't care about customers and only care about making money. Nothing like the Bridgeman's of...
