I don't like leaving such low star reviews, but sometimes you just cannot leave out the details.
It was a Sunday morning, so expect it to be full on such at day and time. There was hardly any spots to park at, we circled around once and someone was leaving and I got their spot. The actual lot has a bunch of pot holes, and needs to be redone.
I walked in and it was smokey inside, the kitchen may have burned something a few minutes prior to my arrival, and they had their backdoor open for ventilation. I wasn't greeted immediately, but I was seated fairly fast. The waitress was nice, but almost charged for 2 cups of coffee (more on that later). So their food was "OKAY", nothing special. It tasted a little bland/plain. Their menu states that their meals come with a "generous" serving of their Home Fries, but there was hardly any on the plate. Which bummed me out because I was looking forward to them. Their salsa was a small size as well, I had to ask for extra salsa. As I was starting to eat, the kitchen seemed to have burned something else, because there was another big wave of smoke that filled up the entire place. It was bad, I heard people coughing. So I asked my waitress to see about opening up the front door to allow for more ventilation to get rid of the smoke, she nicely replied with, "yes I will let them know asap". About ten minutes went by and the front door wasn't opened. When she came back to check on me, I was done and requested the check so I could hurry up, pay and leave, the smoke was pretty bad. I received my check and there was a charge for two coffees. I was a party of one, so I didn't understand why there were two coffee charges. I asked my waitress and she immediately took it off the bill, she fixed it without a problem and apologized.
As I walked out, I walked past the hostess and suggested to them to open the front door because of all the smoke, she said, "oh yes, so sorry about that, we are the new owners here". I believe they may not have things down well just yet, perhaps in a few months or so, I may try again. But as of now, I do not...
Read moreWent to Joanna's Cafe after seeing they had a lot of breakfast options, and everything looked tasty. As soon as you walk in, you're told to pick a seat. It's a small restaurant, maybe 15 tables. It's very very simple. The menu is large, and gives great descriptions like "topped with warm buttery syrup", or "tasty and authentic". Unfortunately, that is a lie. The syrup comes in servings of about 2 tablespoons in a plastic throw away cup. The authentic and tasty, is also a lie. The steak had no taste, at all. The biscuits in gravy looked great, but literally tasted like nothing. It wasn't bad, there just was no taste. The hash browns had no seasoning, the Chilaquiles had no flavor, and was soggy. The only thing that had any flavor was the bacon. French toast was cold upon arrival, over easy eggs were brought out over hard. There was 2 younger women and an older man and woman. Older man and woman, who weren't our servers were really polite, and checked on us. The 2 younger women were rude, didn't smile once, or even greet us. She walked up to our table and said "you ready to order". After asking for our check as they were speeding by our table 3 tables we finally just walked up in the desk they use for a register, and she didn't say a word. She put the bill on the counter and pointed at the table. If the food was great, or even okay the service probably wouldn't have matter, but you can literally get food with more flavor at Jack in the Box. Don't waste your money here. They don't understand the concept of spices, flavor, or even how to...
Read moreThis family run establishment was outstanding in many ways. Our server Alexa was very cute and on top of things and treated us as if we were in her home. Her Dad was cooking and even though there was a short wait on the food timing we understood... Everything is scratch made here and the Dad was the only one cooking today. Alexa delivered a very nice experience for us and the food was delicious and quite unique in preparation and presentation, we loved it. From outside this place doesn't look like much and the street view and interior could be cleaned and improved upon to make it more of a clean atheistic. We were wanting to go to a Cafe and found one of the best by word of mouth. We were so glad to have showed up here. If it weren't for the ceiling needing cleaned above our table today I'd have given five stars across the board. With a sound cleaning of the restaurant and some paint I think this place would have a much needed charming update. Thank you Alexa and family for being so amazing. We will be back and I hope this review helps. Everyone should go here for a...
