I don't write reviews often, but I am here to review my experience with this particular location of the popular fast food chain. I love Culver's, so don't get me wrong when I say what I'm displeased with every visit over the last few months. For starters I eat a gluten free diet because of a wheat allergy. So I frequent the chain as they were one of the first to offer a direct gluten free option. Over the years I've seen this chain slowly fall from my expectations and have started to frequent McDonald's more often instead. Simply because of one single thing. And it's one word. Condiments. This particular location has forgotten my condiments every single visit for the last few months specifically. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it was super busy the first few times. Then it became every time, even when we were the only car in the drive thru. When I not only ask for extra, but get the grilled chicken sandwich that literally COMES WITH mayonnaise. Now I love me some mayonnaise, but when you can't even put it in the bag for a sandwich that includes that? You're really doing me dirty. Including the one time I got mayonnaise and a lot of it... but.. they put lettuce and tomatoes on the chicken when I specifically asked to not put it on there. I look at my receipt each time and extra mayonnaise and my specific sandwich order is listed. But made incorrectly. Tonight's visit not only made me have to once again go inside for my ordered condiments, they put my burger cheese side down in the box(Gfree sandwiches come unassembled). Therefore losing almost all my cheese from my burger. I loved Culver's, but do NOT leave until you check your order. I have lost a lot of faith in this restaurant over the last year. The locations in both McHenry and Crystal Lake are not saints either, as they have made the same mistakes multiple times. It's nothing against the company specifically, just that they are racing too fast to get orders out the door that they are missing steps. Order...
Read moreAbsolutely HORRIBLE experience at this Culver's Woodstock location. We go to Culver's restaurants a lot and have never seen anything like this. Firstly, when we went to place our order, the two girls behind the counter were busy in conversation, oblivious to us even standing there at the register, waiting to order. Finally, one of them looks at us, doesn't even greet us, just stares. We placed our order and went to sit down at our table. After a while, a large blonde lady with her hair tied back literally THREW our food tray on our table, saying "Here you go!" in sort of a sarcastic manner, looking the other direction. We couldn't believe it. It was so rude and she acted like she just hated her job. Further, my friend had ordered a double hamburger with ketchup and mustard only. He got a double cheeseburger with NO ketchup or mustard instead. He was hungry and just didn't want to complain so he ate it anyway. As we were eating, there was a conversation among about 5 workers behind the counter, and one of them was complaining about some customers. This lady was so loud the entire restaurant could hear her. SO unprofessional. Look, I realize sometimes dealing with the public can be hard, but it is VERY bad form to complain about customers where other customers can hear. Lastly, after my friend and I finished our meal, I went up to the counter to order a salad and fries for take-out. My friend left and waited for me in the car. We were in a bit of a hurry, so when one of the workers, a Hispanic gentleman, handed me my take-out bag, I left right away, without checking what was in it. When I got home, I realized there were NO FRIES. I live in the next town over so I wasn't going to drive ALL the way back to Woodstock to get the fries I paid for. All in all, a TERRIBLE experience, absolutely horrible service and absence of professionalism. Plus, they in effect stole my money that I paid for the fries. I would NOT recommend this Culvers...
Read moreMy husband is a disabled Veteran. He has gone to the same Culvers since it opened many time and has always received a Veteran discount of 10%. Tonight we stopped in and the girl at the register argued that they have never offered a Veteran discount even though my husband told her he has always received one after producing his Vet ID.
When she asked for the money - an outrageous $24 and change for two burgers, fries and drinks I told her I would like to talk to the manager first. She went around to where the other employees were and a BOY came out meekly claiming they don't give Vet discounts. He had no identification on him and did not introduce himself to us. He couldn't raise his eyes to look at us. There is NO WAY this boy was the manager. Clearly a liar. A manager would have ID and confidence as well as an explanation as to why the discount had been given for YEARS and was suddenly denied.
It is insulting to be lied to and to have children pretend they are managers and also lie.
We have also found that you have to use a large wad of napkins in order to soak up the amount of grease in their burgers and cod. Really gross.
Another issue is that there were probably close to a dozen employees but the counters where you get beverages and condiments was wet and dirty and when I put my foot down to stand up my foot slipped on the greasy floor. Too many children milling around the work area not to have a clean facility.
They used to have a great reputation but not any more. We will go where my husband's service to this country is appreciated. ...
