I ordered a beef sandwich. When I got home the sandwich was very dry. I called 3 times to ask if they would deliver a small container of natural sauce. They never came. Each time Jennifer said they were there and didn't have my phone number. I gave you my phone number. Jennifer said, I didn't write it down. What? Now she said they're too busy. I waited over an 1 1/2 hr. Why is it my fault that you didn't write it down. I was polite. I'm very disappointed. I wish they had a place that I did post photo of my dry sandwich.
New Add-ons: I returned sandwich personally at Phil's to Jennifer. She was firm that she sent two drivers no such address.
I showed her an addressed card with the address I originally gave her. She didn't want to look at she's too busy. She never apologized or took any ownership. I walked out I wasn't going to beg. The french fries and sweet peppers were good.
Don't tell me you didn't have my phone number when you admitted you didn't write it down. Then you insisted that I gave you the wrong address twice. Not true, both times was the same. Then you refused to look at the mailed business card. A simple, I'm sorry for you inconvenience. Instead you picked up a cardboard starting writing on it. I think you assumed that I thought you would give me another meal. That's not what I was asking. I expected respect from you as manager to admit you misjudged me. All 3 phone calls to you, I was polite with you.
I walked out...
Read moreNo flexibility on the smallest issue, so they lost a $50 due to micro managing & inflexibility. I asked for the mayo on my grilled chicken sandwich to be put on the side. The order taker said, "No we can't do that" Why? She said," I wouldn't know how to charge you". I said, can you put the amount you would put on the sandwich, in the side cup that you put my onions in? She said, I can't do that, all I can do is put no mayo on the sandwich. Then the manager comes on the phone. He said we don't do that because the mayo gets funky. I said, that doesn't make sense. You will put the mayo on a hot sandwich but not on the side in the cup? Does the mayo get funky on the hot sandwich? What's the difference, the sandwich is hotter than on the side in the cup. Yesterday I ordered & you put my onions in a cup, can you do that? I explained that I cut the sandwich in half, & the mayo makes the bread soggy & ruins the rest of it for later. So I waste food & money, so I would really appreciate it, & I was very nice about it. He said no, we don't do that. Mr. Micro manager, who should have said, sure no problem. But he wants to be stubborn, overly controlling & have it his way. So, they lost a $50, & all future business, because he can't put the mayo on the side. So, Papas on 87th just delivered my order, got a nice tip, & put the mayo...
Read moreCstomer service is lousy - very poor, very very sad considering they make a decent pizza. That must be the only way they made it this long because training of staff in areas of courtesy, accommodating customer needs is clearly not something they value. First order, they did not take a coupon displayed on my phone (said I had to have it printed on paper -- ok, is this still 1977?!) Second time ordering pickup they refused to take my payment over the phone -- I had a family member picking ip the order and I wanted to pay the bill rather than my family member. I was told that "Phil's can only take payment over phone for delivery order" --- WHAT?!?! If you can take it for delivery order that means you have the ability to take payment info for ANY order. Read the other comments below. They make a good pizza, however they lack personality and any capacity to accommodate customer requests - no matter how large or small. There are a lot of other great pizza places that DO accommodate customer needs and so thank you Phil's for allowing me to be able to talk about a Chicago pizza place that is NOT GOOD. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I urge others to do the same. Phil's "best kept secret" is that they lack...
