Ate here for the first time while visiting family. Some things are just expected as a norm at Chinese restaurants like sweet n sour sauce...Why did it taste terrible, like it had honey and cinnamon in it? My sister said she thinks it was homemade. I'm sorry, I'm used to the canned pink sauce that has an aluminum smell to it. Not to mention that it was BROWN. Made me gag. I ordered Sweet n sour Pork. Pretty simple. I don't think they have EVER changed their oil. My breaded pork was so dark and tasted burnt... I have never thrown away Chinese food until this meal.
My daughter's boyfriend ordered cashew chicken. Assuming it's going to be breaded, fried and with some sauce, broccoli and cashews, pretty simple. WRONG! It had about 2 layers of water chestnuts to hide the fact that was barely any chicken...mixed with vegetables and a runny sauce. The chicken was not breaded. The dish looked like moo goo gai pan.
My sister likes this place and I'm not sure why. Call me picky but give me the chain restaurant Chinese. I'm not down for homemade surprises. Big...
Read moreI order all the time, their shrimp lo mein is FIRE. UPDATE Well today is August 23rd and I can officially say my going here at least 3 times a week has come to an abrupt end. I got shrimp lo mein like I always do. I got home and started eating it and the sauce tasted a little funny, kinda sour tasting. I thought no biggie maybe they was just a little off on the sauce tonight. Well I got a hold of a shrimp on my fork and it just fell apart,, I thought that was odd so I grabbed one with my fingers and it went to mush leaving goo on my fingers. I checked about 6 shrimp and all did the same and my fingers stunk bad. I pray I don't get food poisoning from the 4 bites I ate. I took the food back and he gave me my money back, but I took a video 1st just in case I become ill. I wish I had a sense of smell because I wouldn't have eaten it. Shrimp is one of those things you know it's bad before you cook it. Highly disappointed and I DO NOT recommend this...
Read moreI believe they must be under new ownership because this is not the same quality food I had years ago. And I mean that in the best way possible. The crab Rangoon is some of the best I’ve ever had. The general tsos chicken was a massive portion. A bit darker than I’m used to seeing but had a lot of sauce and it was delicious. The chicken lo mein was also very generous portion and about half chicken with plenty of sauce to make it go down without adding soy sauce and all the others. This is easily the best Chinese I’ve had on this side of the water (stl will always be the best) ever. I’m excited to see they offer St. Paul sandwiches and can’t wait to try one. The man who answered the phone to take my ordered didn’t speak the best English, but that’s normal just means it’s more authentic. I will be back. They have earned by business. Huge fan. My husband and kids...
