Pulque Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wright City

I am so glad this restaurant has been bought by new owners! We had a great time here. The staff from the front of the house to the back was very polite and gave us excellent service. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The food was delicious, and everything we had so far had lived up to this standard. Proportions are a good value for how good it tasted! Margaritas are on point, and the chips and salsa are a key part of what's makes a good Mexican restaurant a repeat destination for this cuisine. The two dishes we got were the Polque Bowl with chicken and the Fajita burrito with steak as the protein. The selection is very tempting, and because of the flavors we enjoyed, I think from the few times we have gone, you can't go wrong. This is probably going to be the kind of place where we will just go down the menu and eventually try it all. I supplied pictures of the menu as I don't see an online version of it to help everyone out who needs more info. Everything is clean and new in the restaurant. They did a good job making it their own. Only time will tell if it will stay up to this standard, but I have high hope for them. Sent the wife a pic of the parking lot which I noticed is very full around lunch time. Normally I go by really early in the morning on the way to Warrenton but a couple of trips during the middle of the day made me notice this restaurant.

Chips and salsa average to good, it’s a preference thing, we like the very thin and light ones. Theirs are the more the yellow ones a little thicker but were good and warm. The cheese sauce and guacamole were outstanding!

I got a chicken and a beef chimichanga with rice and beans. It was all very good and a lot of it. Wife got shrimp tacos and enjoyed them, she ordered some sour cream to go on them and it was served warm as in intentionally heated up which she found odd and undesirable. That doesn’t make it bd just unexpected and something she won’t request in the future.

Note to manager, have them clean the menus as it was a poor first impression, thankfully it was isolated and the rest of the restaurant was indeed clean.

Took at the very least an hour to get food for two people from 6:30 to 7:30. Server assured food would be at the table "in just a minute" at least three times, first time after about 30 minutes. Rice and beans were room Temp by the time it all got to us. Then once we got the food and stated issues about the quality we were met with the "owners daughter" telling us that fourty minute wait times were almost standard for tickets especially for the current amount of business..... We arrived before the majority of the people that got served before us and our appetizers arrived with the rest of the food(we had ordered them 10 minutes before the main items. "Owners daughter" also claimed that the long cook time was also due to the fact that my mother who was paying for my birthday lunch, had ordered a STRIP steak... Something that takes no more than 7 minutes to cook on any conventional broiler....claiming that was the reason for the wait. Worst restaurant...
