Researched dinner (hoping for crab legs), and breakfast spots on the way to our Anniversary trip destination, and found this to be most raved about breakfast spot, and listed Fabulous Prices! We got there, paid $25 for parking for the whole day, and then went in to fund they do Not serve Any breakfast, just haven't updated the website since A YEAR AGO! GRRRR! On a Positive note, they were friendly, sell really nice things, have a pier you can walk and fish from, and the beach around it had some nice Shells and I found several sharks teeth even. Oh, and they have clean, convenient bathrooms for the public, in a building right at the end of the parking lot. We also found out that the same people that own this paid parking lot, own all of the same paid parking lots in Wrightsville Beach area and the payment follows the car tag, so we can park anywhere in any of them if we want to beach spot hop. We did get a really soft, great flavored biscuit at Roger's Grocery. Hubby got me a chicken one for about $3 and a bacon and egg one for about $2.50, to make it a chicken/egg and bacon. ;)

Cost 2 dollars to gain access to the pier. Great views of the beach, pier supports and the ocean. Watch your step and keep an eye out for casters who do not clear to the rear before they cast. Truely a fishing pier....for fisherpeople. Privately owned pier on a public state beach...? Saw a baracuda chasing fish bait/lures from the front edge of the piee. Blue sky and blue fish equals blue crab and blue water. NOAA.....scientific station on the pier. Nice wood, sturdy pier, wood needs stained, not much to do than fish and absorb wave sounds. Peir tackle shop is good place for snacks, bait, tackle, trinkets and air conditioning. And get your picture taken on the pier.

So my girlfriend and I are here on vacation from Rochester New York. We decided to come to this beach as it was beautiful today around 80 degrees and partly sunny. We ended up walking the beach from where we parked and saw the pier and decided to check it out. Upon entering you have to pay $2 each person to walk the pier but I definitely think it's worth it. You get some great views of the beach from up there and just a great view of the ocean. I definitely recommend everybody check this out and it was pretty cool watching a bunch of fishermen pulling a bunch of fish out of the ocean including some puffer fish which I had never seen before and a flounder.

As a pier, it's a cool place to go and the cost if $2/adult and $1/kid to walk on the pier is reasonable. Everyone we met there was really nice. The only thing preventing me from giving it a five star rating 8s the fact that everything in the gift shop was really waaaaayyy overpriced. I found many of the items in other stores for much less. We only purchased a couple of items for our immediate use, then went to the other stores to purchase the rest at a lower rate. We were able to walk to the end of the pier and watch fishermen fish for King Mackeral. They were cooking it right on the pier and gave the grandsons a sample of it. They thought it was tasty! We did see many, many hooks laying abandoned/dropped/discarded on the pier, just waiting for a bare foot to find it, along with some brand new hooks on leaders laying around. We picked up what was good and handed it off to people fishing and what was trash, we threw away. We were extremely sad at how much discarded fishing line was just laying on the pier and not placed in trash receptacles. We picked up all we found and placed it in the trash bins so it wouldn't end up in the ocean and harm marine life. It was fascinating for the 7 and 4 year olds to see the ocean from that height and to be able to see the occasional fish, or bird going after a fish, from that vantage point! They were excited! Next time we are at Wrightsville Beach, we may even let the boys try their hand at fishing from the pier. We'll definitely visit and...
