My Buddy's Place — Restaurant in Wyoming

My band and I were under contract to play music here in Oct 2016. We drove to Sheridan from Denver and spent the night the day before the show. The day of starting our 3 day residency at the bar, I was approached by the bar manager, Drew, who stated that the bar had been double-booked and that they were going to send us home and let the other band perform. I had a SIGNED contract in my possession from Drew and had already incurred some costly expenses showing up to do my job and fulfill our end of the agreement. He insisted on passing the blame to our booking agencies for the miscommunication and gave me his contact number to keep me in the loop as far as details were concerned. No proof of anything was actually provided by any party besides our contract. I've called him several times for answers to this matter which he has failed to respond. I wouldn't be writing this review had someone spoke to me or provided some proof of fault for which our contract was breached, but since these parties have chosen to do business the cowardly way and not respond to me, this is my only voice. My booking agent relayed the message to me from the bar, that they would not pay out a dime to help cover expenses and that if we took this to small claims court, good luck collecting on the payment. In summary, we are a working and traveling band who does 100% of our job and when we get shafted and I have to come up with money I DON'T HAVE to cover expenses, yes, you can bet your ass this is the result. I called Drew to set up my 25-year-old husband's celebration of life. This is where our friends drank, where I and a few friends became regulars. Well, I called Drew and asked him if I could hold the celebration of life here; my budget was $6,000 total (not that he cared enough to ask). I ended up donating the 2k in tips for bartenders to a suicide prevention and spending 2k for the celebrion of life.
