This review is for the Mural Room, which isn’t listed on Google Maps, but is the fine dining option in the same building as the Pioneer Grill at Jackson Lake Lodge run by the same company. The food was abhorrent. Things started going sideways when we tasted the French onion soup. The level of salt was literally breath taking and had us gasping for water. Things only went downhill from there. Anything that should have been cooked was either uncooked (broccolini, French fries, and carrot soup) or badly over cooked (burnt burger patties). Things that shouldn’t have been cooked seemed like they were cooked (the lettuce of the Caesar salad, completely wilted and old). Although the $18 trout salad was billed as having “local Idaho trout”, it came with just a dusting of dried mystery fish. As we were chewing on our shriveled lettuce and rubber burgers, the waiters were telling the tables around us that food wouldn’t be ready for a long time while passing out small puddings as an apology. Our sympathies are with the wait staff, who did an admirable job trying to cope with being the face of a miserable dining experience. It seems Grand Teton Lodge Company is getting away with robbery and charging high prices for “food” to sit with a gorgeous view of the Tetons. I suggest you enjoy the view from the...

When you pay $45 for 2 "large" drinks and 2 buffalo burgers, you would expect the burger to be pretty good. The whole process and meal itself were terrible.

First, because of covid-19, they aren't able to "customize" the burgers. I guess it spreads less germs to add the onion than it does to not put one on to begin with. But I digress.

Since the restaurant itself is closed to the public, you must eat outside. Scenery is fantastic, so no big deal. The burger itself is terrible. Red and extremely undercooked on the inside, and hard, burnt, and flavorless on the outside. Like eating cardboard, im sure. It was hard to choke it down, even knowing you paid $17 for it.

The fries were really good. And the "large" drink (all 6 ounces of it) wasn't enough to wash down the cardboard burger.

I've had buffalo burgers in just about every restaurant in and around Yellowstone.....This was by far the worst. Won't eat here again, and would advise others considering it, to...

Staying at Jackson Lake Lodge, dining options are limited and we were forced to eat there three time in the last two days. First night was takeout. Got back tor the cottage and two of three orders were incorrect - dressings not included in salad a whole side of fries was left out. Second meal was a late breakfast, dine in. Our server was friendly and sweet but could not make up for slow turnaround by the kitchen, missing items and under prepared food. The third time was another takeout dinner. Side items and dressings were left out again, but this time we caught it before we left. However items were mis and under prepared - undercooked chicken breast and how do you screw up mac and cheese? The staff admitted they were overwhelmed by the increased business volumes and the other family friendly food options were not equipped to serve during a thunder storm...

We've eaten dinner and breakfast here. I had a Cali Chicken Sandwich for dinner, it was good, nothing news worthy but filling. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. I had biscuits and gravy, biscuits remind me of Cheddar Bay Biscuits but harder/tougher. Gravy has no option to leave out the sausage so it's greasy. Couldn't really alter any dish to my liking. I'm not a vegetarian but I'd like some choices without meat, we'll actually without sausage but there are few choices. Husband says eggs were nasty, he had eggs on our first morning and a burrito on the second, he says eggs were the reason it wasn't good.

Service in no way made up for the subpar food and could not stomach the prices. If you're looking for old school American diner feel, this could fit that, but the food left a lot to be desired. Not gross per se but nothing to be satisfied with. I would have rather skipped dinner than spent my money here. Got chicken noodle soup, burger, and fries, and the only food worth eating was the fries. Burger was like a school lunch, and chicken in the soup was unsettling. Waiter was criticized by overhead in front of us and not nicely. It wasn't too busy but the service was slow.

Had both dinner and breakfast here, and also tried the restaurant right next door for comparison. Gotta say I liked Pioneer Grill way more. The food just hit better, even though the two spots serve different styles and are clearly going for different vibes. No reservation needed at Pioneer Grill, which is a plus. The place next door is supposed to have a better view of the Tetons, but honestly, you don’t really see much from inside anyway. You’re better off grabbing a solid meal at Pioneer and then taking a walk outside to actually enjoy the view. Totally worth it!
