This afternoon I took my wife out for high tea at the Snow Blossom Tearoom. We ordered the Windsor tea set. The tea started with soup. I had the roasted vegetable and my wife had the pumpkin bisque. The soup is delicious. The vegetable soup is quite hearty and the pumpkin mildly sweet and creamy. This was a great start to our tea meal. I highly recommend either soup. Next came the salads, my wife ordered the Waldorf salad. It was a work of art with thinly sliced fresh apples, feta cheese, fresh greens, and a scrumptious homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Next came the tower with the scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets. The scones are out of this world, they are moist and delicious. We tried the blueberry and the white chocolate scones. They are both amazing but the white chocolate scone is outstanding with its crystallize sugar and spice topping. I could have eaten the scones without the jam or lemon curd or the whipped topping, they are that good. Next were the savory sandwiches, we thoroughly enjoyed the chicken coronation sandwich which has a hint of curry. The cucumber sandwiches were my favorite and the best I have eaten. By the time we got to the sweets I was really full (which is unusual for tea). The lavender shortbread cookies were a real treat, the lavender icing is quite a unique and delicious flavor. There were many other delicious sweets Included with the tea, but too numerous to describe here. Lastly, we were served a generous portion of vanilla gelato. What a wonderful way to end our high tea experience. Pat was our server and she is highly attentive and friendly making our afternoon enjoyable. The tea room is located in an old bank building with extensive wood paneling, high ceilings and two beautiful murals on the wall depicting historical Wyoming. PA scenes adding to the unique atmosphere, not exactly your normal tearoom, My wife and I really enjoyed the high tea at the Snow ...
Read moreI’m excited and grateful that we have a Tea House back in our area that being said, just keep an open mind when you arrive because it doesn’t look like a Tea House at all
The scones were really good
Mini desserts eh —
But fyi:
Do not make the mistake we made which was we went for the “typical tierd “ pretty view of everything cost us 8.00 share fee
Then we got asked for another scone and another tea but what didn't realize is that if we just gotten a different setting aka not the 48.00 one ( we each got 2 seperate things we could have shared no fee and not pay for extra scone or tea it would have been included! ) so we would have saved 30.00$$$
If you are new just ask to save the money
They also forgot to give us gelato and did credit us back 5.00 -
Waitress said she still learning as they only open a month now so looking forward to going back when its decorated and menu items are clearly explained - when ordering
So this is literally inside an old bank and it still looks like the old bank….
It is new so just giving some feedback for future upgrades, Maybe have real local honey offered in cute jars and for sale at the counter ( right now its plastic fake honey!) and have sugar presented better then what it is Some ideas for the owners are getting chair covers because the chairs do not match the decor... Maybe add some decor because there really isn’t any feminine Tea House things at all
Best of luck for lots of success...
Fyi if you want to try another Tea house in Montrose called rose cottage inn And cost was half this place just an fyi
