Days Crab and Lobster in Freeport, Maine, offers a delightful coastal dining experience that’s well worth a visit. Nestled with a scenic view of the marsh, the outdoor seating provides a serene backdrop, perfect for savoring fresh seafood. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a bustling yet efficient staff ensuring quick service despite a busy crowd. We didn’t wait long for our meal, a testament to the team’s hustle and dedication to keeping guests happy. The menu is expansive, catering to varied tastes with mostly fair pricing. The standout is their lobster roll, slightly pricier than competitors but justified by its quality. Served on a perfectly toasted, buttery bun, the roll is generously portioned, brimming with tender, flavorful lobster. It’s a highlight that lives up to Maine’s seafood reputation. However, the fried clams initially raised an eyebrow—they came out noticeably dark, which made me question the frying oil’s freshness. After checking other reviews, it seems this is their signature style, likely due to a unique coating or a crispy cooking preference. Thankfully, the clams were far from chewy or rubbery; they were delicious, with a satisfying crunch and fresh taste that won me over. The staff’s friendliness adds to the charm, making you feel right at home. While the lobster roll’s price might give pause, the portion and quality make it a worthwhile splurge. The rest of the menu feels reasonably priced, offering good value for the variety. Days combines a picturesque setting, a robust menu, and top-notch service, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers in Freeport. Whether you’re craving a classic lobster roll or crispy clams, this spot delivers a memorable meal with a view.

Give it a try you will not be disappointed. We have been coming to Freeport for 30+ years and always saw Day’s as we drove to Freeport, but always ate in the village (Linda Bean and others which are WAY over rated and priced). It was nice summer evening so we decided to give Day’s a try and we are sure glad we did. We had lobster rolls (these are 100% lobster no lettuce mix version), chicken tenders and a crab cake…with fries of course. It’s a cantine/pick up stay place, you order and they call your number (nothing fancy and no ac). Food was delicious and satisfied our craving. Would highly recommend and will be back next time we are in the area. As mentioned the downside is you are outside on picnic tables, but that’s half the charm. If you prefer they also have a lobster market/fish place adjacent and you can pick up fresh or cooked lobster and some other seafood.

The. Fried. Haddock. It is crispy, flaky, juicy (interior), and light. Please get it. (If you like fried chicken and or fish, you’ll love this.) Lobster roll is also pretty good, and the prices are average for Maine. It’s just a lightly grilled cut sausage bun with fresh lobster lightly dressed with mayo. (Yes, I used “lightly” twice in a sentence. Deal with it.) The roll comes with a pickle on the side. It’s simple, and the lobster is very fresh and tasty. You order in front and pick up when they call your number (the wait for us was around 10 minutes—nothing too long, and the view is beautiful). There’s also a small seafood store, where everything looks very fresh (there is a big vat with live lobsters swimming around). Definitely come by for lunch if you’re hungry on the highway or in a nearby town.

This was an extremely disappointing experience. I went last year and it was delicious with good portions. This year was NOT the same. I talked it up to my boyfriend and we finally went together. It was terrible. We split the combo platter for $32 with tax. This included 3 fried scallops, a few pieces of fried haddock, shrimp and clams. They were out of clams so they doubled the shrimp which was a nice gesture. The fries that came with the plate were cold, burnt and soggy. Not sure how you get that combo but it was so bad. Not to mention there were barely any fries in our basket! Honestly maybe a small handful. We had to dig to the very bottom to even find the fries. At first we thought they forgot them! They did a large remodel over the winter season so I was expecting the same quality and portions as last year but improved! We were SADLY disappointed. We were also looking forward to bringing our parents here this summer when they visit. Needless to say we'll be skipping over that idea. So sad that this cute local staple has...

The food was fine, but the little things were overlooked. There were three people in our party, and food order for three people. When the food arrived, there were only 2 forks and the lemonade that was ordered turned out to be water since the fountain was out of the lemonade. We ordered one large and one small lobster dinner for two of us, but when we got them it was really hard to tell them apart. This isn't really a problem, next time we will know to save $10 and just order the small. We had to ask for dressing for the salad that was ordered, and while some crackers for the lobster shells were supplied, there weren't any other utensils that were helpful to dig out the lobster meat. The lobster was good, the fries were good, and my cole slaw was good. My wife's cole slaw might have been from an earlier batch and was really not good.(yes, I tried hers too). All in all, we will be better prepared with utensils when we visit again. We will stick to the small dinner, or try something else, there are a lot of choices...
