Just ordered at the Leaders Heights location due to convenience today. The Cape Horn location had always been a great experience, so wanted to have dinner again but at the location thats closest to us.
I cannot express how disappointed I am with the experience at Leaders Heights. The service was great, very nice people. Ordered 2 lomo saltados, and 6 empanadas. Total was 55 dollars. To be expected honestly, have ordered many times so expected the price, and its been worth it before.
Unfortunately today the portions are disappointing at best. We're talking literally 5 pieces of chicken, 2 tomato quarters and 5-6 onions. The rest was the normal amount of rice and fries. Usually spending 55 dollars on dinner we have enough for a small lunch the next day, today we ate everything and still ended up a little hungry. For 55 dollars?? I don't know why the kitchen is SO different at the different location. It appeared to be a skeleton crew running it. The lomo was severely lacking in flavor which is not typical, the empanadas were small and understuffed, again, lacking in flavor.
Times are tough so I'm unsure if they cut portions on purpose, but it was hardly worth the money. As much as weve enjoyed the Cape Horn location, the experience at Leaders Heights has us seriously considering not...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to drive here to try out. I went based solely on one persons review and that it could give El Serrano a run for its money. The staff was very nice and the location felt clean when walking through the door. I feel i didn't get what i paid for Nearly $40 for 2 Lomo wraps and 2 drinks. The amount of food was a lot even though most of it was rice. As far as flavor, there was none. Zero!! I was expecting something close to what I am used to but was very disappointed. In every bite, I had hard pieces of rice. The chicken was hard and hardly any in it. The tomatoes even had no flavor, and I am not even sure how that is possible. The only thing that had flavor and completely overpowered the taste of everything was the onion. I was really hoping to find a replacement for driving 1 hour to Lancaster, but it looks like I will still be making that drive. We are usually the type of people that will give a 2nd try, but the experience was so bad that I will...
Read moreRocoto on Leader Heights has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. York doesn’t have many fantastic spots for great food, but this one ranks very high on my list. I work across the street and my co-workers and I visiting this restaurant at least once or twice a week on most weeks. The food is fresh and always reliable when it comes to flavor and quality. Every staff member is always so friendly and welcoming. They make the best chicken salad and I’m not typically impressed by salads. The chicken is seasoned so perfectly. Additionally, their cheese empanadas are the best I’ve ever had and the “secret sauce” is incredible. Thank you for always offering fresh, reliable food with a smile. I’m heading out the door for a chicken quesadilla and cheese empanadas as soon as I submit this...
