We came in around midnight, so maybe that’s why, but over half of the tables were dirty. Cups, plates, napkins, crumbs, etc. looked like no one had cleaned in hours. There were only two people working I believe, and one busy table (teenagers/college kids?) and one couple aside from the two of us. The couple left around the time we sat down. below our table was dirt and crumbs, along with a spoon. Looked like it hadn’t been swept in days.
Waited quite a while for anyone to come over to take an order. We had driven 14 hours and got into a collision with a deer on our way to visit family in Lincoln. So we were staying at the motel 6 across the street after being towed into York. Hadn’t been able to eat, past midnight, and no car. We just wanted some food so we walked down to the only nearby restaurant open that late. Once the food got to us, which didn’t take long- I’ll give them that- it was eh. Good enough for the situation at hand. i got the ham&cheese stuffed hash brown (which was just an omelette between shredded hash browns with some diced ham and two slices of cheese melted on top. Not what the picture looked like— hash browns, lots of ham and some scrambled eggs with melted cheese with another set of hash browns on top of that—, but it was not awful). Along with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the cup I was given my drink in had black spots/lines on the inside, smelled strange, and my drink tasted weird. I could just be dramatic, but I was over it all at this point and I was ready to fill my stomach so we could go back and get some well deserved sleep.
Don’t plan on coming back, even when passing through to visit family again in a few months. But for it being a 24 diner while we were very hungry, cold, tired, and just in an accident... it did its job. I don’t recommend unless there are VERY limited choices. Would rather grab a cup of ramen noodles from the convenience store...
Read moreOutstanding place! Immediately, you're greeted very warmly and you're given the feeling of actually being wanted. Food comes very promptly and exceptionally tasty! Service is second to none as you immediately notice that everyone working here seem very happy to be here and they pass that on to their customers! Smiling, great attitude and a genuine need to take care of their customers! Rather refreshing considering the state of the food service industry of today! My breakfast was probably one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while! I got a meat lovers omelette and it was bursting with meat and it was very fluffy and exploding with flavor! The only downside is the price of their coffee. At $3.29 a cup, it's rather steep for an ok cup of coffee. All in all, it wasn't surprising to see this place filling up with eager breakfast goers ready to start their day! Honestly, for way less than $20 my breakfast was actually a bargain (in spite of the expensive coffee) as compared to their "competitor" next door to them to the north! I am looking forward to coming back as long as they don't change anything! Thank you Huddle House for kicking off my day in such a...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a friend. On our way back from Hastings, my coworker and I decided to stop at this place and have lunch. I walked in, after standing there for 5 minutes and 3 waitresses looking at me, finally was told by one of them to sit anywhere I want. I sat down, 15 minutes later the same waitress finally comes to our table. I ordered burger, medium rare with jalapeños. Took three cooks 20 to make 2 burgers. Mine was burnt and no Jalapeños, the waitress went to grill the jalapeños because all three stooges (cooks) went to break at the same time.
We finished our meal anyway, our waitress never came to check if we needed refills because she was too busy talking to her coworker. We asked for our receipt, she goes to break and we had to wait another 15 minutes.
Finally got our receipt so we can pay and leave. She asked if we would give her a tip, I said sure. Here's your tip, tell your boss to fire the 3 stooges and get real cooks and for her to be more attending of her customers.
Will definitely not be...
