This place has gone downhill The place is dirty to begin with. you could never see out the windows if you wanted to. You would have to first move the blinds that stay closed and are gross themselves. The ceiling in this establishment is coming down. The building itself from the inside is falling apart and needs more than some TLC. Their crushed ice machine is broke, which I find to be a pretty big deal for a margarita place. The food left a lot to be desired. A lot of it you could tell was pre-cooked including the meat that was hard. we ordered two meals the total $24 and my husband got a margarita that took the bill to $42. I am not complaining about the price but feel instead we were overcharged. My husband's food was brought out well before mine was so if we wanted to eat together we couldn't. I don't ever really post reviews unless they are excellent but this place blew my mind. We used to frequent here when it was Salsitas and the change of name or ownership is obvious. Our first indication should have been the empty parking lot and restaurant as well as the waitresses sitting at the bar when we walked in. there was an obvious language barrier also to the extent the waitress could not understand what I was asking for and just responded with yes but didn't bring the items. I have not had a horrible dining experience in quite some time but this one took the cake. After two bites the food was packaged up and came home to the trash. On the upside my husband's dish was better than mine.
needless to say I am surprised the health department hasn't shut...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I remember when this place originally opened as I grew up in the area from the 70s through the 90s. The food used to be so delicious...USED TO BE. The red flags were all there, but since this was a place we'd eaten at before we ignored the lack of upkeep and basic paint maintenance. We went basic. Soft tacos, Chile relleno, rice beans and a quesadilla. Chips and salsa are typical of every "Mexican" restaurant in the area, thick store bought Chips and bland salsa. The tacos had a portion size that looked smaller than a school lunch portion, and the meat on everything had no seasoning, just a pint of salt. When you tilted the food, grease poured out of it, like a magic trick. Why magic? Because it seems there was more grease than meat....for $25, this place is ridiculous. Honestly, we make far better Mexican food than these...
Read moreI want to start by stating I was very disappointed with this location. I have been to the Austintown and Boardman locations and they were wonderful. I had my mother, son and grandson over and ordered from the Youngstown Salsitas since it was closer to my home. We went online to the SalsitasInc website and picked the Salsita Fajitas for $10.25. When my son went to pick it up they charged him $12.50 each. He told them that the online menu stated $10.25 and the guy at the register asked him which one did you look at because they can charge different prices at the different locations. I recommend going to Fiesta Tapatia Restaurant and I hear there will be one in Austintown soon. Love the one on...
