BAANTHAI CUISINE — Restaurant in Yuba City

This is one of the hardest reviews I've ever had to give. Let me start off by saying that the staff were very friendly! The restaurant was neat, clean and well kept! The food was delicious!! Here's the hard part, I could not give more than 2 stars because the price I paid for the tiny amount of food that I got was outrageous! $12 for 6 spoonfuls of food and it didn't even come with rice, I had to pay additional for that 😖 At $12 I would be so much more forgiving if the food was just ok but the portion was bigger. Baanthai cuisine would get a full 5 star rating from me if the portion to price ratio were so much more...

I had the green papaya salad, and it was great. My friend had the pad Thai, and it was just so-so: no cilantro, too much bell pepper, onions cut too thick, and missing the robust flavor of better Sacramento restaurants.

Food came out fast. I like the pay at the cash register approach. Price was quite affordable.

I was disappointed to not find beef salad on the menu. This is my go-to Thai dish. A shame they don’t carry it.

I’m not sure how I felt about the Thai music videos streaming in the corner. Kinda nice, kinda annoying. Maybe too loud?

Super tasty! So many layers of flavors. We had the mango chicken, sweet and spicy. We also had spicy fried rice with beef (mild). It was excellent and steamy hot. Again, the layers of flavors are so complex. We also had the pot stickers. Make sure you get the dipping sauce, it's so good. The only bad thing was the length of time it took. We called for takeout and she said 20-25 minutes. It was more like 40. The food was worth the wait, I would just prefer to wait at home.
