Had visited this business last year eager to try their Indian Fried Taco. Walked in and was astounded at the noise due to open ceiling. Rec'd no greeting from hosting staff. Directed to a table. The tiny metal chairs are very uncomfortable. Shocked to see a piece of bread with a little bit of meat, beans and veggies was $14.50. Waitress took order then never saw her again until I had to find her to get my check. Wait staff brought food out, snuck around me from behind and then ran off. No one came to see if I needed anything else. Upon leaving asked to speak to Mgr and divulged my experience to her. She said she was surprised at my comment about the staff as they emphasize friendly customer service. Told I didn't know if it was because I was eating by myself, but I deserved the same service as a group of people would receive. She gave me a gift card to give them another chance. My recent visit did not change my mind. Still rec'd no greeting from hosting staff, just asked how many. Decided I wanted to sit at bar, maybe seats there are more comfortable. Bartender gave no greeting, asked me what I wanted to drink. Tried some chit chat with her and that was unsuccessful. Ordered my food. The whole time I was eating bartender never spoke to me or asked if everything was ok. I realize she was busy, but it doesn't take much to ask how food is while working. Needless to say the unfriendly staff, horrendous noise and over priced food did not convince me to come back again. Very surprising this place gets such rave reviews due to the two visits I've made. Reply to Owner: Clearly your business doesn't take pride in being welcoming because I experienced not being welcomed not once, but twice. Just because a food item is generously topped, which is very subjective, doesn't make it worth almost $15. Your business had two chances to provide me with quality of service that anyone should expect when spending hard earned money to eat out and the distance I had to drive to get to your location. My expectations are not extreme. I used to wait tables and know how things are suppose to be done, the least of which is greeting them with a "Hi, welcome to such and such place, how may I help you today, may I take your order, etc, paying attention to customers, checking on them after food is served, at the least acknowledging that they exist, etc. That is the basics of food service, not expectations. From reading other reviews I am not the only one who experienced this kind of lapse in service. There may be a great many others who had similar experiences, but they don't post reviews, they just never come back. And yes, I only go to places who treat me as a paying customer and provide standard quality service. Two times is more than enough of chances to give a business to treat customers with respect and common courtesy. I also own a business and would never think to treat my customers the way I was treated at your...
Read moreI think I may have just found the best restaurant in Oklahoma. I don't have to try all of them to reach that conclusion because it simply does not get better than this. There's a lot of places that I've given good reviews for but if I could I'd give this place 10/5 stars. I haven't had this good of a meal in years. My wife and I ordered the fried green tomatos, their Lokal Club, and their Barbecue Cheddar Bison Burger. I cannot stress enough how high quality everything we had was. For sides we had Mac and Cheese and fries and they completely blew our minds. The fried green tomatoes had the best flavor I've ever had come out of anything related to tomato. The fries were unlike anything I have had before and I want everyone who makes fries to do it the way they do it now. The fries had a perfect crunch factor while retaining the moisture of the potato. That crunch with the perfect level of seasoning they had made them hands down the best fries I've ever had. The Mac that my wife had was perfect southern Mac. The flavor was smooth and transported me somewhere cozy and homey. The burger I had was excellent. It wasn't too complicated as is the trend with a lot of American cuisine today. The barbecue they used was sweet and tangy and perfectly complemented the other flavors in the meal. The Club my wife had was delicious as well. I only had a bite but I'm pretty sure all other so called "clubs" are ruined for me now. The atmosphere was great too. It was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table and the waitress that served us was attentive and kind. It was a very comfortable place to enjoy a meal. If you love good food, look no further. With one meal my Wife and I have become life long customers. I haven't been able to find better American cuisine in 27 years and with the bar set so high now I don't know if I ever will. Give them your money, you...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to a night out at The Lokal in Yukon, especially with the live music. We even arrived 30 mins early. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that patrons aren’t the priority here. All of the shaded, covered patio seating—arguably the best seats in the house on a hot evening (3 tables in total) were being reserved by the owner and a large group of their friends. Not one shaded table was left for paying guests. How I know this you might ask? I asked our waitress how we might go about reserving a table in the future and she told us that the owner typically reserves these tables.
We have a young child, and like several other families who showed up hoping to enjoy the music, we were left with no option but to sit in the blazing sun. We saw multiple families with little ones leave shortly after arriving for the same reason. When we asked our waitress about the seating, she admitted that the owner regularly reserves the covered patio for their friends.
Frankly, it’s incredibly poor form. As an owner, you should be setting the standard—not contributing to the problem. Watching families walk away disappointed while the owner and their friends lounge comfortably in the only shaded area, seemingly unconcerned, was frustrating and disheartening.
Patrons don’t want to feel like second-class citizens in an establishment they’re supporting with their money and...
