The pho was good, beef was good, I've had better Khao pad and egg rolls from them over the years. Service was fine until two of us went to the counter to pay. We never received a copy of the food they rung up, so we didn't know how much we were being charged. Two bills were paid (no receipts given) and we went back to sit down for a few more minutes to finish up. A large cash tip was left on the table and we walked out to our car. Who I'm assuming was the manager, the woman walked out and started yelling at us saying we didn't pay. Being confused because 2 of us separately went up to pay - my daughter first, then my sister in law who was mad she was partially beat to it, we followed the woman back inside.
It turned out our server who was also at the register divided the meal into 3 bills and when my sister asked for the whole table, the server didn't give her the remaining bill.
The manager was yelling at us when we were trying to figure out what happened, the whole restaurant watching her display. I asked her to just charge my card to end the ordeal, she continued to yell in our faces, so I said I don't want to add a tip but she told me it was already on the bill because we had 7 (4 children). So we found out they charged us gratuity on all 3 bills without us authorizing it, in addition to the cash on the table.
There was a miscommunication between the server and us, as the manager admitted, but she laid out all her anger on us at the end of her day and embarrassing us and herself.
Thai Avenue provided the WORST experience I've ever received and I would recommend going elsewhere. There are other Thai restaurants with great food and...
Read moreThis place is AWESOME! The portions are huge and the prices are great value for how much food you get! I love to add extra veggies to my curries and stir fries, because I love veggies, and it only costs a little bit extra. Lots of Thai places get annoyed when I ask for this, but the cool servers at Thai Avenue are like "Right on. We can do that!" The Thai iced tea is pure ecstasy! Try it! Plus, everyone here is super cool with answering questions, whether you are new to Thai, Laotian, and other Asian styles of cuisine and don't know what to order, or if you are a seasoned pho and Thai connoisseur and want to know exactly how they do theirs so you get it how you like it. It seems like some of the less than stellar reviews on here are from people who don't really know what good Thai food tastes like or can't handle spicy food (maybe Dutch folks who can't handle any heat at all...). If you are new to Thai food, my best advice is DEFINITELY give Thai Avenue a try, tell them you're new to Thai food, and ask lots of questions (in a FRIENDLY way). The servers will do their best to help ensure you enjoy your meal...
Read moreA Flavorful Thai Experience with Delightful Pad Thai
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Avenue and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere, which set the stage for a fantastic meal.
For my main course, I decided to go with the Pad Thai with shrimp, and it did not disappoint! The noodles were cooked to perfection - tender and chewy, just the way I like them. The shrimp were plump and fresh, adding a wonderful layer of flavor and texture to the dish. The tamarind sauce was rich and tangy, creating a perfect balance between sweet and savory, while the sprinkling of crushed peanuts on top added a satisfying crunch.
The portion size was generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content. Service was attentive and friendly, making me feel at ease throughout the dining experience.
Overall, Thai Avenue offers a great dining experience for lovers of Thai cuisine. I highly recommend the Pad Thai with shrimp - it's a flavorful, satisfying dish that will leave you...
