Best Thai & Sushi — Restaurant in Zephyrhills

Okay guys, here's the scoop. If you appreciate low-lit places with smooth jazz and comfy seats as your place to chill in, this place is it.

I ordered the Salmon Combo Set to share with my fiancé. He had his Super Noodle Duck Soup (rice noodles) while I went for my usual favorite Basil Sauce Crispy Duck and rice. Your meals come with a delicious cup of miso soup. Tofu, seaweed, and spring onions are, of course, added to it. Yum.

The salmon came in three forms: Sashimi, Nori roll (seaweed, and included a tiny bit of cream cheese) and Rice roll. The sashimi was, oh, so, GOOD. So yummy and juicy, especially when I lightly dipped it on the surface of their house soy sauce. You don't have to do what I did, but I loved that hint of saltiness at the bottom of the fatty fish. It instantly put a smile on my face!

Now, the star of the show on my account... Basil Sauce Crispy Duck.

Please get it. If you love something robust and loud that even brings some fun to your mouth; Get. It.

The flavors consist of that earthiness, filled with the mixes of saltiness, sweetness, garlicky, spicy, and sour notes. The fat rendered from that duck coated everything, but kept this sauce so light. Each time I took a bite of the vegetables, it would be a dance! Think of a dance contest between the best flavors. All of them are included, but each one wanted to take their turn in showing you who's awesome (:

But man, oh man... that crispy duck. That dude was sitting at the bottom of the veggies and soaking the flavors and still tried to maintain so crispy, tender, and juicy. Biting the meat was gnarly because it was BLISSFUL. I'm not joking. Chase it with some rice... absolutely marvelous.

It was all just a big warm hug after going through a lot this summer and missing a doctor's appointment just before entering (they gave me the wrong address lol).

I tasted a little bit of my fiancé's dish after he devoured most of it. It tasted as if Pho and Basil Sauce had a child, and was the quiet type compared to Basil Sauce. It's so good if you want your brain to take a little break (:

Service!!!! If I could I would write out every detail of the first and the second ( last time) we went but no one would read a 12 page review. Just know if you go there chances are you will have a server with the worst attitude ever. Specially since there only seems to be two of them and they are both horrible. Worst service ever. Lady had an attitude the first time we went. It was so bad we said we wouldn’t go back. Decided to give it a second try seeing how maybe she was having a bad day. Got same server and same experience. Horrible attitude. Asked for a hot water and she delivers it in a soda glass not a coffee or tee mug. But she brought the mug with her. What makes anyone think to bring steaming hot water to a table in a non insulated cup. Then bring the insulated cup. I asked her to pour the hot water into the mug for me away from the table for 2 reasons. Main reason I didn’t want to risk spilling it all over the table and my 5 year old daughter. She copped attitude then walked away with it and came back with the hot water. She had already given us our sodas and one at the table had ice water but she failed to give straws. When I tried to ask for straws she scoffed and walked away. I walked to the front counter to ask the guy for straws and as soon as I did he said I’m busy. Ok I get it. I waited for the straws then proceeded to ask for a different server as we didn’t want the attitude lady to wait on us again like on our first visit hoping we could enjoy our dinner. He copped an attitude and said she’s is the best we have and if we didn’t ask for so much that she wouldn’t have attitude. I’m sorry that asking for straws and to pour steaming hot water away from my 5 yo was asking for too much. It was the exact same the first time. It seems like the attitude spins down from the top. We got up and left. Worst place ever. Would give negative stars based on attitude and service. Will...

Sooo... I am a regular at this establishment... However, Thursday 8/27 was the most horrendous customer service experience I have ever had.

I COMPLETELY understand the seating situation with COVID. However, we had a 5th person in our party. After we sat down and took our drink orders we were informed that they can only serve 4 out of the 5 people at our table due to COVID regulations. We kindly asked if we can move to another table or if we need to leave. The server said we don't have to leave but to wait for a table to come available. As we waited for another table, she then came back and told us that the only available table is actually reserved for another party. So we asked if we could order to-go since all of us couldn’t be served. She took our order, served our beers and cashed us out. 15 minutes after we ordered she tells us that we all need to wait 30 more minutes outside in 99-degree weather for our food. We asked if we can continue to wait at the table for our to-go order since we have already been here close to an hour. She rudely said “why can’t you wait in your car, its not that bad..” and said she needs our table to serve other customers. Flabbergasted by what she told us the attitude she had, we asked for a refund. We had no idea we would have to wait over an hour and a half just not be served our food. She also didn’t give us the receipt showing our refund and ended up still charging a couple people in our party for food we didn’t even receive.

This restaurant used to be my favorite restaurant. My friends and I are regulars here. Because of this experience I cannot give them my money again after being treated so poorly.

PS.. Waiting an hour and half at the table we “couldn’t” be served at defeated the whole purpose. Also there was no sign or clarification saying they can only serve a minimum party of four per table.
