Shirl's Drive-In Zion — Restaurant in Zion

My wife and I, have been to Shirl's in Zion, many many times, and the sandwiches were always good. Last month, we got two gyros sandwiches. It seemed to us, there was a noticeable decrease, in the amount of gyro meat, on the pita. Yesterday, March 10, 2025, I stopped and got a fish sandwich and an Italian Combo, with an order of onion rings. The "Italian sausage" looked like a brown cylindrical piece of meat, deep fried! It not only didn't look like "Italian sausage" I really can't tell what it tasted like, other than something deep fried! There was NO fennel seed in it. It did look like something ground, but it had no "Italian" flavor. The "Italian Beef" didn't have much flavor either! And the onion rings, were a little on the "crispy" side! A few weeks ago: Very, very disappointed! We ordered several twist ice creams through the drive thru, and they just could not get me my order right, even after slowly repeating my order so many times, and then our cones were so lopsided.

Today we place our order, and saw that other customers that placed their orders at least 10- 15 mts after we had placed ours, were getting their orders. My husband went to go ask the cashier about our order and they didn’t even know what we were talking about. My husband showed them the receipt and then we had to wait another 10-15 mts for our food to be done, and then we noticed that the cashier that took our order missed an item and the experience was just so disappointing. The cashier that took our order took the time to write down order and charge us but was in a rush to leave and never placed our ticket...

Tonight is the last time we will be visiting. The food is so expensive now, I get with inflation prices have went up but tonight's dinner cost us $98. I ordered the Italian beef that came with very little beef on it (definitely not worth $9). I also ordered cheese fries with extra cheese sauce. I only received 1 cheese sauce. The staff has no clue what they are even doing. After I placed my order an employee told me that they couldn't do the cookie dough shake and asked if I wanted something else. I said no and they issued a refund for it. Then, when my order was ready, they handed me the cookie dough polar blast. After lots of confusion I finally got it straightened out.
