This is our first time here and our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The customer service was nonexistent, the staff was impolite, and the overall service was abysmal. To make matters worse, the security officer was outright rude. We booked a table over the phone, but no one informed us that the last order would be at 9:30 PM and the restaurant would close at 10 PM. We were 4 adults and 4 small children. Upon arrival, we were not greeted. Instead, the hostess immediately asked about our reservation with an unwelcoming attitude. We confirmed our booking and requested to sit inside since it was quite hot outside. However, the hostess claimed our reservation was for outdoor seating, despite there being several vacant tables indoors. At no point during the booking process were we given a choice between indoor and outdoor seating. The hostess insisted we wouldn't fit indoors, but a nearby employee said it was fine for us to sit inside, although he reminded us twice that the restaurant would close at 10 PM, and it was then 9 PM. We were not offered a high chair for the children and had to find one ourselves. Despite several waiters walking by, no one offered any assistance as we struggled to set it up. The food was somehow blunt plus marred by poor service. We ordered three identical dishes, two of which arrived promptly. When we inquired about the third dish, the waiter seemed confused but assured us it would arrive shortly. It finally came after 15 minutes, delaying our meal. Throughout, we were repeatedly reminded of the closing time. At 10 PM, having finished our meal and paid the bill, the children needed to use the restroom. As they did, the waiter, named Iskander, impatiently reminded us again that the restaurant was closing. I explained that we had finished our meal and paid, and asked for a little consideration given our situation with small children. Iskander responded dismissively, insisting they had prepared our meal to their standards, which seemed to include late service. We thanked him for ruining our mood, delaying the food, providing poor service, and hurrying us out. He sarcastically replied, "You're welcome." As we were leaving, the security officer approached my husband, who is a foreigner, and started shouting in Uzbek language. My husband explained he didn’t understand, but the security officer continued to yell, insisting on speaking Uzbek and even cursed at us. When my husband mentioned calling the tourist police, the security officer shut the main door and hid inside. This was the worst experience we have ever had in my beautiful country and city. The behavior of these employees tarnishes the reputation of our hospitality industry. I am ashamed that such attitudes exist in a well-known...
Read moreComedy of errors is what I would call our experience, buckle in for a long read. We arrive on a rainy-ish day around 9pm. We walk in and a lady quickly steps in front of us. I say do you speak English and she made the "X" sign and body blocked us and didn't let us in. So they found a person who spoke English and he explained that they couldn't serve us now (with no explanation-that was the first mistake).
So I just said ok we will order to go. And they all nodded yes. We ordered our food and they said it would be ready in 25 minutes which was fine. While ordering, I asked them if the Kung Pao chicken dish and the other beef dish came with rice. After some back and forth they said yes it came with rice (2nd miatake). On a whim I ordered 2 Noodle dishes even though the rest of my party said I was ordering too much.
So, they indicated that we should leave and come back in 25 minutes, I said we aren't going anywhere since it was drizzling and said we would wait outside under the parapet. Around 915 a couple of tables cleared out and left, I thought ok so this place is going to wind down now and close around 10 (as per their posted hours).
A few minutes later, some couple walks in and I was like "awww poor guys are gonna have to find another place to eat". TO MY SURPRISE they were graciously seated to eat. At this point we burst out laughing. We couldn't believe it! We weren't even given the option to wait till a table was available. Is this not practiced here? Definitely some miscommunication.
Anyhoooo. Food was ready exactly when they said it would be. We laughed and chuckled our way back to the hotel. We opened our food and SURPRISE no rice with the dishes I had specifically clarified about. Thank goodness for the extra noodles.
Moral of the story, always use Google translate and ask many questions. Food 10/10, ambiance 9/10 in the rain with fairy lights, communication on both ends 4/10.
Definitely visit and have all of the food cause it was all yummy. Except I can't vouch...
