Buddhist vegetarians who abstain from the five pungent spices (ngũ vị tân, e.g. onion, garlic, etc.) would love this place! Although the restaurant does serve food with the five pungent spices, the restaurant owner, Tạo, is a practicing Buddhist and perfectly understands this dietary requirement. He speaks good English and can advise you on which dishes can be made without the five pungent spices. We've dined in once and have been ordering in from him. The dishes we've ordered are tasty and have never tasted of the five pungent spices. This is pretty rare because most vegetarian restaurants in Vietnam just aren't sensitive enough to this dietary requirement.
