The Grill — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

Firstly, kudos to Cong for his sincere smiles and proactive service. We came here for dinner and decided on the Seafood Bisque, Grilled Tiger Prawns, Wagyu Beef Cheek Bourguignon and Mac & Cheese with mushrooms. The seafood bisque was good and I mopped it up with the bread that was served earlier. The prawns were fresh and springy but personally we would have preferred it to be more grilled. But still good. It came with a side of squid ink rice, but it somehow reminded us of pulut hitam which is an odd thing to have with prawns. Perhaps it is just us. The wagyu beef cheeks were tender and mostly fell apart at the soft prodding of my fork. Sauce was a tad too rich but still acceptable. It came with some dry noodles which made for a decent pairing. We didn't finish our Mac and Cheese as the taste didn't go too well with us and the cheese.hardened on top forming a kinda rubbery layer. We still think that The Grill has decent food and good service but... what bothered us the most was the air conditioning or rather the lack of it. Service is incredible, it’s like being a first class passenger on the titanic (without the stress of capsizing and stuff). It’s not a cheap place to eat, but it’s definitely worth every penny.

The restaurant is still pretty new so there weren’t many people, even so it felt like we had our own personal server. Hanh did a great job of getting to know us and making recommendations accordingly as well as throwing in a few freebies once she found it we were on our honeymoon. Trung (manager) & Louie (chef) also came to introduce themselves and chat with us as well which was really nice.

As we’re backpacking around Asia, we’re used to looking for cheap places to eat so wouldn’t usually go to a fine dining restaurant but we don’t regret going to The Grill at all.
