This review comes over 3 visits and captures my overall feeling of the place.
The food is good. I really can’t complain about the quality of the food itself. They have many dishes to choose from. It is more expensive but that is to be expected.
The 2nd and 3rd time I went they were out of many dishes. OK- that’s fine whatever. I guess my real issue was the 3rd time I visited. Made the mistake of coming in on a vegetarian day of the lunar calendar. Came in about 2 hours before close. Ok that’s on me. We order a few dishes. 20 minutes pass, no food has come. A different waiter comes over and tells us that they’re pretty much out of everything we ordered expect for one “pork” dip that we had ordered and also that they’re OUT OF RICE! Ok- I understand if the cook doesn’t want to start a new batch because it’s late. But you must think I’m born yesterday if I’ll believe that in Vietnam you’re out of rice. Come on man! I tell them ok, we are just going to leave then. They beg me to stay, and tell me they’ll “go buy rice” so that I can have it with the dip. At this point I’m just like ok whatever. So they bring rice and I eat. Then it’s time to go. The bill still has the dishes we ordered that we did not receive. I ask them to fix it. They do, and bring it back with them removed, but a new item added, RICE! It’s important to note, that on the menu it specifically says that the mains come with rice. Even if they didn’t, it should be common sense not to charge me for the rice when you were essentially offering it as an olive branch for me to stay. It wasn’t about the price, it wasn’t about the rice, it was about the principle. The 3rd experience just left such an awful taste in my mouth that I would never return again or recommend this place, at least not to any foreigner, ever again. Which is a shame because I really did enjoy it the first time I went. The food is really good and the aesthetic and atmosphere is quite beautiful. But whether it be due to language barrier or lack of customer service / common decency, for me this place aged like a beer left...
Read moreWonderful chay food you could find in Can tho! Hidden in an alley, after you walked in will find a very comfy place, calm ambiance, friendly and welcoming staff.
We ordered the fruit salat as starter, which mixed with strawberries, dragon fruit, cashews and lettuce, dipping as white sesame sauce, flavoured mixing well!
Then we had deep fried spring roll, fillings with potatoes, carrots, the fillings are very soft n seasoned well. Especially recommended the fried wontons!! The crispy wontons skin, top with chopped basil 🌿 mushrooms etc, this is really tasty 😋 without any sauce, can taste the original flavour of the food n vegetable, this is the original kind of vegetarian food I’m always looking for!
The wontons soup also amazed me. The soup as always a bit sweeter in Vietnam food culture. But the ingredients of soup quite natural and healthy with red date, wolf berry, white fungus and vegs. I like the fillings of the wontons, seems with taro paste, very soft n yum yum! first time to have this kind of combination.
last not the least (as my only picture showed) a dish must to order! the plate present with pineapple, herb leaves, fried oyster mushes covered with soy made kind of tofu skin (which is really tasty!), rice noodles, great thin pie crust and lettuce. Dipping with the sweet sauce, will blow your mind 😍😍😍
Though today I dined in the darkness cuz little accident that out of power, but the staff are still thoughtful and try to apologise. I hope can come to here more often and try more dishes in here! Though there’s no English menu, but the staff made good recommendations and explanation as much as they could, Great job 👏 I had a wonderful dinner at Can tho tonight!...
Read moreThe food WAS NOT GOOD, vegetables are soaked in soy sauce, the wait was VERY LONG making a TERRIBLE SERVICE. I was hungry!! I usually put only good reviews but this one was SO BAD that people should be aware! Maybe it was not the right time for me but they let customers in but cannot handle customers’ orders properly … there is only 1 waiter for 8 tables full of customers… the waiter focus first on big tables although you arrived 15 mins before. I waited 45 mins for my meal and it was the wrong order… this waiter let the rice sit on my table until it became cold and I waited another 20 mins to get the right meal… I asked him to change the rice since it was cold and at first it seems to bother him, then he let me wait for another long 10 mins, like he didn’t care and wanted me to eat the cold rice instead. I asked the pregnant lady and she was on her phone… I’m pretty sure it was the same rice! The lady who is probably one of the assistant manager asked him the issue and she was ok but needed to wait for another round for the new rice to cook… so I just ate the cold rice, very unpleasant !
At the end the boss came up to me to apologize and give me a discount for the food but I still leave this place with big disappointment and want to tell about this experience so other travelers are aware that they can be disappointed with this place.
If you are vegetarian. There is a very good restaurant called TINH BINH VEGETARIAN. The food is way better there and they have more staff...
