Quán Ăn Chay Bách Thảo — Restaurant in Cần Thơ

After almost 3 months of travel in Vietnam, this is absolutely our favourite food spot we visited in the entire country. We went every day. There are a couple of staff members who speak a little English (really friendly service too), the menu is the best we’ve seen in Vietnam - it actually makes sense (and has both English and Vietnamese). Prices same for both. The food is absolutely fantastic! For a cheap lunch, have the rice of the day at 18k. We just about managed to eat it all - fantastic value. We had noodle soup dishes and other rice dishes too, all brilliant. Several hot pots to choose from but we didn’t have them as we were already just too hot every time we were there! A really authentic local food experience and it is heaving - both lunch and dinner time! Do yourself a favour and go! :) even if it’s full, just hover around the entrance and someone will come and speak to you (otherwise just go and grab yourself a table - they will quickly serve you free ice...

By far my favourite restaurant! After that wonderful night that I found this hidden gem, I returned every day that I spent in Cần Thơ.

It is a very welcoming place with unbelievably friendly staff. I couldn't help but continuously smile every time I dined or lunched there. I nearly tried every 'ăn chay' (vegetarian) dish on the menu and can recommend them all. I enjoyed really nice and memorable social interactions and conversations at this restaurant.

The food itself was always fantastic, we had food and drinks there three times (only the spring rolls are not very special), but (!!) today we got scammed and had to pay more than the prices on the menu were. Also we had to pay the full prices for only getting one single spring roll and one single summer roll. The owner/staff however didn’t want to understand and persisted on his price , so unfortunately we won‘t come again, despite...
