Nem Nướng Thanh Vân — Restaurant in Cần Thơ

I just had to write a review about Nem Nướng Thanh Vân in Can Tho! I stumbled on this little gem while wandering around the city, and it was an absolute delight. It's definitely not a fancy place – more of a local joint with plastic tables and chairs. But that's part of the charm, you know? You get the feeling you're eating where the real Can Tho folks eat.

The star of the show, of course, is the nem nuong (grilled pork sausage). It was incredible! The meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and had this amazing smoky flavor from being grilled over charcoal. They serve it with a whole platter of fresh herbs, rice vermicelli noodles, pickled vegetables, and this incredible dipping sauce. I think it had a hint of peanut butter in it, which sounds weird, but trust me, it worked!

One thing to note is that the portions are pretty generous. I ordered one serving and it was plenty for lunch. Maybe even a little too much! But hey, no complaints there. And the price was fantastic – super affordable, especially for the quality of the food.

Overall, if you're looking for a no-frills but delicious taste of Can Tho, Nem Nướng Thanh Vân is the spot. Just be prepared for a casual atmosphere and bring...

This is a great place to eat with the locals. It is just low key place but the food is quite good, fresh and fast.

We had the Nem Nuong - which is a roll it yourself rice paper roll. You are served an ambundance of fresh basil, lettuce, piclkles, shredded lemongrass, with pork sausage.

I was a bit skeptical about the rice paper at first, as this is a dry sheet, but it is super light and slightly crunchy. The sausage was also homemade and really fragrant and tasty. I could easily eat this every day for lunch.

We also had the Bun, Banh Hoi, Banh Tam. Pretty much the same ingredients as above but served with rice vermicelli. Also great.

We also had for drinks the Tra Chanh Sa Gung (lemongrass, ginger, lemon tea). This was a bit sweet but refreshing.

A good spot if you want...

The restaurant cheats foreigners. We paid our lunch, they gave us the change (we paid 200000 and they gave us 30000 in bills of 10000). After, we asked for a juice but we gave it back because it said "natural" but it was not. The waitress gave us the bill again with the 170000 writen that we already been paied. After finishing our beer when we went out the reastaurant they wanted us to pay again, they chased us. To aboid problems we paid again but they didnt make any effort to try to clear what just happened, they havent even chacked the cameras well, I m totally sure will notice the misundestanding if they try to follow the succesion of the events.
