The Best Sushi Ever – A Must-Visit in Vietnam

Okay, let me tell you about this tiny sushi spot that completely blew my mind! My husband, two friends, and I decided to check it out after seeing some glowing online reviews, and honestly, it was such an adventure to even find the place. It’s tucked away in a little alley, so much so that our cab driver had to stop and ask people for directions.

When we finally got there, the restaurant was tiny—just two little tables and four chairs. Super cozy. The chef himself opened the place for us (how cool is that?) and instead of a menu, he asked us to pick dishes from photos on his Facebook page. We went with two platters, and wow, we were not ready for what came next.

The sushi was absolutely incredible. Like, hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. The portions were huge, the flavors were insane, and the whole experience was just next-level. And the price? So affordable, it felt almost too good to be true.

The chef was such a sweetheart—he even took pictures with us, which just made the whole thing even more memorable. My friend actually said he’d come back to Vietnam just to eat here again, and honestly, same. If it were up to me, this guy would have a Michelin star already.

Wow! The best sushi we have ever eaten in our life! We had a hard time finding a good restaurant where we wanted to eat in Ha Long. In our quest to find a restaurant we stumbled upon one of the best places we have ever eaten! The chef prepares the sushi and has a nice chat with you. He’ll ask what you would like for ingredients but also prepares some mystery sushi’s for you. Ones you would maybe not order from a menu usually. But all of the sushi’s you’ll get will have the most amazing taste you will ever taste from a sushi. The sushi also looks like art! I don’t know how he does it. All the ingredients are fresh. The service is excellent, you can see chef Phong prepare the food and his brother will be assisting. They are really friendly.

📍 This place is a hidden gem in Halong Bay. It's located in a quaint neighborhood, easily walkable. I recommend having the Grab drop you off somewhere along the main street before walking into the neighborhood. 💲 AMAZING value for money for the high quality of food and level of service. 🍣 This was the BEST sushi I've ever had in my life and I don't say this lightly.
