Was a very enjoyable experience joining this cokking class byThanh @ Khoi. Started at 830am with a visit to a fresh organic herb farm picking ingredients for this morning cooking, picked thai basil, lemon basil, chili, mint, etc. Was introduced to lots of herbs and local vegetable. Enjoyed a local refreshing beverage, basil lemongrass drink. 2nd trip to wet market to buy additional ingredients, rice flour wrap, bean sprout, carrot, etc. Final stop was back to cooking class at around 1030am with a welcome drink served.
Started by an introduction on what we are cooking for today. In order: Grilled fish in banana leaves, Vietnamese pancake with shrimps, fried spring roll, and mango salad with shrimp and pork. You will get to enjoy the food once it's cooked, you get to eat them first and continue with next cooking. All 4 dishes were superb, excellent, very fresh ingredients, especially the herbs. I like the fried spring roll the most if I need to choose one of the best. All 4 are delicious.
If you're 1st time at Hoi An, Khoi cooking class is a must do activity. It's very worth the price and a very memorable experience to enjoy. Thành is very nice, polite, speak English very well and friendly. Everything...
Read moreWonderful small family business - food and service excellent ...so we have eaten here several times during our stay! Just spent the morning with my family doing the cookery class - very highly recommended. We went to the organic herb and vegetable gardens and picked the herbs and salad for the dishes and then on to the market to get some more ingredients - both fun and really interesting. Our guide/teacher spoke excellent English which meant we could ask lots of questions and that the instructions during the cooking were really clear. The food we cooked was delicious and the ingredients of very high quality. Cleanliness top notch. The dishes were all great but the sea bass grilled in banana leaf was particularly good. Lots of food as well - we had spare to take back with us. We thought this was good value experience given the considerable time and effort our hosts put in, the high quality of the ingredients and the large amount of food you get to eat! We would highly recommend both resteraunt and the cooking course to anyone. Lovely family - we wish them...
Read moreBest place to have dinner when you’re staying in Renaissance across the road. It’s super close to the point that it feels that the restaurant is part of the hotel complex 😂
You can taste that every dish is created with attention to detail and used fresh ingredients. I’d highly recommend fried snapper with mango salad and morning glory. The combo is magnificent! Sad that I didn’t take any photo as we were blown away by the visual of the fish lol
The owner is very attentive, polite and speaks good English. Always warmly greets us and politely takes our orders.
The payment is cash only. She told us that the restaurant hasn’t met bank’s minimum revenue requirement for credit card machine. She also told us that the restaurant was just built 4 months ago and needs more reviews so more people can come.
Give it a try and you won’t regret it! PS. Once again, this is your sign to try the fried snapper! The current photos in Google reviews didn’t do the dish...
