We booked a cooking class the day before, the family was very accommodating picked us up and took us to the family home.

We were given refreshments and then went around the communal gardens. This was great our guide had lots of information about all the herbes, their uses and the demonstration of local farming was great.

After the tour we were treated to a head massage by two wonderful and smiley ladies, very talkative and the massage was nice.

The cooking class was detailed, hands on and interesting. And the food was excellent.

Our one critique of the whole experience was our guide. For the 5hours we were there made constant “sexist” jokes that made my partner especially uncomfortable, also the constant hovering while we eating the meal. It’s a real shame as it was a real damper on the otherwise great morning and experience.

Firstly, I arrived early waiting for a couple of other friends to arrive, and everyone was so friendly and attentive and really made me feel at home, even as I sat alone.

They introduced me to the concept of their set menu, heavily reliant on their local produce. And when the food came out, oh my.

Everything, of course, was DELICIOUS. Surprising but classic, super sophisticated but quirky and surprising. Every dish was presented with effortless elegance that you'd be hard-pressed to find at Michelin-calibre restaurants, from a humble little spot that we stumbled upon.

There should be a damn line down the road. You must visit! The best meal I've had in Vietnam, and the best hospitality I've had in a long time.
