Happy Thai Thu Duc — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Compared to the fancy Thai place I went to a couple days prior, this place is more casual. The menu is much bigger here than the other one. Although the quality of the food is a little lower.

That being said, I would probably be more likely to return to this one than the other one. I probably liked the food more at this one, but it tasted more standard.

The wings (120K/$4.75) were pretty small. Some were even smaller than the others - I don't know how many total (6-8)... The Tom Yum flavor was the first I've had for chicken wings, so it was interesting.. if the wings were a little bigger and a little less dry, they would have been really good.

The pad see ew noodles (120K) were also a first for me (I didn't know what they were), I might not be able to distinguish it from pad Thai. I think the pad kee mao noodles are the same except spicy (I don't know, though). The chicken verison is good. The portion looked a little small, but I ended up being ok.

There is 8% VAT, so my total for the two was comparable to the other place's...

This small Thai restaurant offers medium-to-good Thai food and great hospitality, making it perfect for young families. We visited with two adults and our 11-month-old baby, and the staff were very supportive. They quickly set up a high chair and provided non-flavored fried chips and a plastic bowl for our baby to taste while his mom chose the order.

We tried Pad Thai, seafood glass noodles salad, grilled pork skewers (xiên heo nướng), and Thai iced tea (trà thái hồng). The food was served quickly and tasted good, rating about 7.5/10. You can adjust the chilies to your preference.

The total cost was 400,000 VND, including tax.The space is cozy and clean. We will definitely return for the excellent service...

The second time I’ve eaten here, and it was 5 stars again. The pineapple fried rice is mouthwatering and the sea bass fried and served with tamarind sauce is a must try.
