Great place if you're craving genuine Southern Vietnamese flavors, but want to skip the usual pho and banh mi circuit. This restaurant charms with its vintage vibe - think old-school decor that gives a lovely vibe (tho a bit hot during the daytime)
The staff here are as welcoming as the ambiance, greeting you with smiles and an eagerness to share their culinary culture. It's refreshing in a world where customer service often takes a back seat.
Nha xua 68's menu is a nod to simplicity and quality. They don't try to overwhelm you with choices. Instead, they focus on a handful of dishes, each crafted with care and authenticity. Here, it’s all about southern Vietnamese cuisine, the kind you’d find in a family home rather than a street vendor in Hanoi.
We started with the duck with ginger. This dish was a revelation – the ginger adding a sharp, spicy counterpoint to the rich, succulent duck. It's the kind of dish that makes you appreciate the art of simplicity in cooking.

Food was not too bad although they are known for their hotpot, which we didn't order. We had rice (very delicious and aromatic) + and omelette (it's a rather "clean" tasting omelette so no Thai style umami woke fried flavours here + stir-fried pumpkin flowers w garlic + claypot fish (a little overcooked but the flavours were all there).
Those pumpkin flowers are a must-try. Crunchy with a hint of sweetness, you won't find these at all restaurants. Love...
Read moreThis was the first restaurant I’ve been to in the world, where you can pay extra to be in an air conditioned room. Only 68K for your entire group, I didn’t mind at all. It was not offered initially to us so make sure you ask for it. It’s more comfortable as you will be sitting in regular size chairs instead of the low chairs and it won’t be as hot.
The food here is traditional and authentic. Everything we tried was delicious. Some dishes were really salty but goes well with lots of rice. Some dishes you can’t find as street food and we were happy to try the pumpkin flowers and taro soup. Service was fast and friendly. Highly...
