TL;DR: Rory Beach Bar is a fantastic spot with stylish ambiance, a welcoming owner, and great amenities like a pool and mini-golf. Their food, especially the burger and fish and chips, is top-notch, making it the best on the island. Service is also exceptional.
Rory Beach Bar truly stands out as an exceptional destination for anyone looking for a blend of style, comfort, and quality dining on the island. From the moment we stepped in, the warm welcome from the owner set the tone for our delightful experience. The bar's ambiance is inviting and stylish, creating a perfect backdrop for a relaxing day or evening out.
What's particularly impressive is the bar's beautiful pool and mini-golf course, which provide unique entertainment options that are hard to find elsewhere on the island. These amenities add a fun and casual vibe to the place, making it ideal for both groups and solo visitors.
The food at Rory Beach Bar is a highlight in itself. We tried the burger and fish and chips, and both were simply incredible. It's not an exaggeration to say that these were the best we've had on the island so far. The flavors, presentation, and quality of ingredients were all top-notch, reflecting the care and expertise put into their preparation.
Service at Rory Beach Bar deserves a special mention too. It was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring our experience was nothing short of perfect. This level of service, combined with the delicious food and great atmosphere, makes Rory Beach Bar a must-visit destination on the island. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is...
Read moreGreat place to hang out with a beer! We are staying nearby (at Mango Beach Resort) and couldn't resist a few trips, just 300 metres away (less than 10-min walk), to Rory's.
It's a fairly large, open area, well-lit, brightly coloured with a definite laid-back feel to it. You are greeted warmly by the staff and they are the friendliest bunch you'll meet in Phu Quoc!
The bar is fully operational and yet at the same time the outer areas are being expanded to make an even greater experience. It looks like there may even be some guest accommodation at some point, which would be awesome! If there is, we'll be queueing up to stay! There is definitely room for expansion on this side of the island and, as Rory's Bar ticks all the boxes, I think their enhancements will benefit all in the near future.
During our visits, we ate the spicy wings, two types of pizza, fries and the most delicious salt & pepper squid. Their food is great! All washed down with plenty of draft beer (our 12-year old son obviously stuck to coke), so no complaints from us! 😋
Kids are welcomed with open arms as well, there's even a pool for them to splash around in and not sure yet if the mini-golf is up and running yet, but if not, it soon will be!
Can't recommend this place enough. Cheers to you Rory and to your team...it was a pleasure to meet you all and will see you again soon! 🍻 From the Brit 🇬🇧 Finn 🇫🇮 and the little...
Read moreI've been coming to Phu Quoc once per year since 2018 and as of 2023 I think Rory's and the East Coast in general is the currently best spot on the entire island, and I've been practically everywhere else on the island over five visits. While the West and South of the island are crowded and, sadly, overdeveloped, the East and Rory's in particular is more of what most Westerners probably have in mind when visiting a tropical island. The atmosphere is very open and friendly, the vibe is perfect (great music, spacious), the food is good (though needs more Vietnamese options in my opinion), and there's lots of activities to keep you entertained (billiards, shuffleboard, mini-golf). The saltwater pool is unique and more than makes up for the lack of a proper beach. At 1.5 million a night for a bungalow, the value is great here too - four days at Rory's cost us the same as a single night at Mango Bay. If you need to get somewhere they rent PCXs - good luck finding a bike that good from any of the rental shops! At this point Phu Quoc and Rory's are synonymous as far as...
