Nhà Hàng Hải Sản Bé Lài Lăng Cô — Restaurant in Thừa Thiên Huế Province

Our driver took us to this local seafood spot on our way from Da Nang to Hue. The restaurant is right next to the beach with an absolutely amazing view. Our family got to pick out fresh seafood, and my mom mentioned it was cheaper than in Da Nang (I’m not sure about prices myself), but the quality was definitely fresh. You can ask the chef to cook your selections however you like — from BBQ to steamed dishes.

A couple of downsides: some guests (mostly local men, it seems) were smoking in the dining area, which I personally didn’t enjoy. Also, the staff was a bit slow and inattentive. We ordered extra food and had to remind them three times. Later, I noticed some staff eating leftover food from other tables after guests left, which made me feel really bad for them — I hope the owner takes good care of them, because they looked young, tired, and hungry.

Overall, if you want fresh, local seafood with a beautiful seaside view, this place is worth a try — just keep in mind some of these...

Stir fried noodles with chicken and bbq clams - to be honest, the prices were ridiculously high for the quality of food. The (oily) noodles were basically the same as the ones from an instant noodle pack, and the chicken was so dry and had an interesting “elastic” structure (wondering if that was old or not...). The clams seemed fresh however we could barely taste them as the sauce used was overwhelming. If they had used less, it would have been a lot better and they could make a good dish out of it.

I would not have been as harsh if the prices were not as high - have had amazing food in Hoi An the day before for a lot less so this is just very disappointing. Was brought here by our private tour driver, must say...

We had a very nice meal here, staffs speak good enough English. Food was very well cooked and seasoned. Most impressed with the seafood fried rice that is moist but also crispy!! Very skilful chef.

Would give them 5 stars if they are honest about the bill, they would charge you more than what’s on the menu if you didn’t take note of the prices on the menu. It happened to me and one another customer.

Overall, would still recommend this place for good seafood and beach view.
